We are a group of 5 . Myself, my sister, and my 3 granddaughters ages 8,10, 12. We have 5 ;45 dining. Which works best for us, really - I simply can't eat late due to some med issues. But 5 girls, one shower, especially after beach days on Castaway and Lighthouse .. I'd seen some post somewhere that adults have acesss to showers in the fitness center.
Has anyone tried that? We are sailing on the Dream on deck 12, forward.. it looks like the fitness center is deck 11 , forward- so might get the kids started showering while the adults try the fitness center. Is that reasonable, or is the fitness center showers overrun with people trying the same thing? How many showers available?

The fitness center showers are awesome, especially for taller people. At least on the men’s side, I’ve never had a problem getting one any time of day. They also have plenty of product, razors, etc. freely available if needed.

You can use the fitness showers but I will say the ladies shower might have a wait especially after Castaway and Lookout Cay. It will most likely still be faster than waiting for everyone in your room but I did not want you to go in thinking that there will not be others who also share your plan.

I agree use the fitness room showers. My adults sons are super tall and on our last cruise, they only showered there.

I had a Rain Forest pass on my last couple of cruises and I just started showering in the ladies changing/shower area. The showers and space are some much more spacious.

Happy Sailing!! :earsgirl: 🚢 :mickeyjum

I think you can take your 12 year old with you to shower too. We have 3 girls and one male in our room. Myself and my teen daughter showered in the fitness area once or twice on a previous cruise. There was no one in there and no one said anything about my teen daughter coming in.

I did that on my last cruise on the Dream and did have to wait for a shower, though not for long. I think women take longer than men, so if you're a woman like me, don't be surprised if you have to wait for the shower and find the dressing and primping area busy if you go before dinner. Women blow drying their hair, chatting with friends, etc. There are only a few showers and it can get busy at peak times.

Be careful with your swimsuit if you came in wearing one. I almost lost mine by tossing it into the Rainforest towel bin after a shower.

Question you have to be 18 to use the gym will kids get stopped going into that area since the showers are that way?

Teens can use the gym with parent supervision but yes children would not be allowed in the spa area including the locker room
