Has anyone ever seen a shower curtain used with shower doors?

I bought a shower curtain and a few decorative pieces (rugs, soap dish, toothbrush holder, curtain hooks, washcloths) on clearance a few years ago. I intended to redecorate my girls' bathroom but never got around to it. Since then we have put up shower doors. They decided yesterday that they want to redo their bathroom and have almost completely finished stripping the ugly wallpaper to get it ready to paint. They like the blue swatch that I had picked out when I bought the shower curtain and want to use the stuff I bought. The shower curtain is a bright floral in colors they love and would really help to brighten up their otherwise rather drab bathroom. There is no window so can't use it as window curtains.

Would it look really stupid to use it with the shower doors? We actually never even took the curtain rod down (use it to hang towels and swim suits). I thought about cutting the curtain in half and put half on each side pulled back with a decorative tie or could just leave it like you would a regular curtain. Their tub isn't in the greatest of shape (rust stains, needs to be regrouted) so hiding the whole thing doesn't seem like a bad idea!

I actually did this in a house I was renting. The shower doors had ugly, I mean really fugly ducks painted on them. I bought a shower rod and just covered the doors with the curtain and it looked really nice.

After seeing this....

And realizing I have a similar set up in my master bath, I decided to put up a shower curtain to add color without painting. I'm thinking about doing it in my main bath also, which has shower doors also. I will probably get two curtains for in there, to make it fuller.

Changing a curtain is a lot easier and faster than repainting every time you want a new look.

I have a curtain covering my shower doors. It was that I liked the curtain and DH refused to take or doors so we compromised. I bought a expand a rod and hang my curtain in from of doors to cover the ugly tub, doors etc.

I have a shower curtain covering the glass shower doors in our main bathroom. Honestly, I don't care if it dooks stupid or not, it works for our ofamily, and since we have no window in the bathroom it's the only place I can add some color/pattern to soften the expanse of tile and paint in the room (our main bathroom has a cathedral ceiling and a sunlight at the top, and without the shower curatin it seems cavernous and echo-y).

Put it up and see how you like it. If you like it, leave it up, if you don't like it, take it down. No big effort/time lost if you hate it. The benefit of having it is that you can't see the tub, and in my family's situation, the shower curtain gives more privacy than the glass doors, which works for us because we have no qualms of walking in to get a brush or something while someone else is in the shower. :rotfl2:

I did this in our first house.

For our wedding I registered for and received a lovely shower curtain to match the towels, rugs, etc. We rented for 18 months then bought a house. The bathroom had glass shower doors (and really ugly tile in the tub). It was the only tub and I really wanted to use my pretty curtain! Used for 7 years until we moved.

Always wondered if it looked odd to other people, but I decided I like it enough to do it.
