Show your Wedding Dress

Don't worry Claire your not alone it took me & my DH 9 years to get round to it too. ;)

Robert and me started talking on Myspace, then met up two weeks later, the second date he came and stayed at my house, and by the third date (Also staying at mine) we were talking marriage.... We decided he'd move in with Me, my Mum and brother (At my Mum's suggestion- Shortly after his first visit to my house!) on the fourth date, and the rest, as they say, is history! He proposed on the two year anniversary, and we should be married before the fourth!!

Sorry, that was a rather long post!

It doesn't matter how long it takes, nor even if ever, as long as you're happy

::yes:: I totally agree Alison. I have been with my DBF for nearly 11 years now and we do talk about marriage sometimes, but if it never happens, I don't mind, we are very happy together

Lovely dresses everyone :thumbsup2

I agree, it really doesn't matter. DH and I were 'courting' (I love that word) for 9 years before he turned around one day and said 'Do you think I should get a new car or should we use the money to get married?' and seeing as how I didn't drive at the time, I chose the wedding! Not the most romantic of proposals but we knew we would do it one day, just no particular rush for us.

Sara. :)

More great photos everyone, thanks for sharing them. I'll try to remember to scan mine this weekend :)

Here's mine from 2000. I'll scan my one from the 1st wedding sometime...

Our wedding was very casual, no official photo's and I've only scanned a few. I made my dress myself as I preferred spending the money on the party and not on the dress, it's a silk chiffon sari with crystal embroidery on the front.

(and I wore it to a party a couple of months ago!)

I'll start with mine from 1985 - Laura Ashley styles were all the rage,

Here's Tony and I in 1985.

Beautiful dresses girls!! :lovestruc
I unfortunetly didnt have a big white wedding dress..:sad1: just a dress with tiny pink spots on :rotfl:
23 years ago yesterday:eek:

Looks like 1985 was a popular year - I can't believe we'll be celebrating our silver wedding in 2 years time.
My in-laws were celebrating their silver wedding soon after I started going out with DH - they seemed so old then:scared1: (They celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary this month:cheer2: )

Mine! Married in 2001, had the dress designed specially for me as I couldn't find anything I liked enough

Our first dance, the dress was actually shorter for this, a little ingeniuous system by the designer

Lovely red dress! My first was a scaled down version of yours... must get that pic scanned...

DD and I are loving this thread! I would try scanning in a photo of my dress, but (fortunately! ;) ) my PC is poorly and I haven't got the laptop set up with the scanner. It was in 1979 and, of course, it was gorgeous and I looked a million dollars - yeah, right!

I want a pink wedding dress...just need to find some poor old guy to marry me lol.
