Show your Wedding Dress

Thanks so much for your kind comments. Looking back it is amazing that the first dress I found an advert for fitted me so well. It was like it was made for me. It was strange too as the shoes were a size 4 and fitted me perfectly too. Neither of us had ever been to Disney before and we could not afford to go for our Honeymoon but went a year later in October 1992 and have never looked back.

Some wonderful photos on here and don't you all look young.

Here's ours from April 1986 - a Laura Ashley meringue :rotfl: but I loved it at the time

When we celebrate our 25th in 3 years time on a beach in the Maldives (I wish) I want something slinky and totally different

I do have it actually Jules - I used to put it on every anniversary to check it would still fit. However, the girls used to laugh at me :rotfl2: so it is now stored in the roof.

Loving everyone's photos. I'll have to go off for a scanning session...

OK, here we are (1995). In the self-ridiculing spirit of this thread, though, I'll have to hunt out some of my first wedding back in 1982.

What a wonderful thread, I love all your photos :goodvibes

I haven't had my 'white' wedding yet. Phil and I met end of January 2001 and he proposed 3 weeks later. And we got married 6 weeks later - we don't like to hang about :lmao:

We had a registry wedding so I figured why buy a white dress, i'll buy one for the Church wedding. So I wore a blue outfit I found a couple of days before the wedding (I shudder to think what I would have worn had I not found this :scared1:)

Then life (and finances) got in the way of our Church white wedding and then after a few years we didn't think about it too much. Then when I got pregnant last year I wanted to have our Church wedding so we got married by our family priest in our sitting room one week before Matilda was born. I was the size of a moose and it wasn't exactly the wedding I had imagined.

Soooooooooooooo...i'm hoping 3 times is the charm and that we can renew our vows for our 15th wedding anniversary (in 8 years) and do this at Disney, that's my goal anyway. And I WILL be wearing white. Something nice with a touch of meringue if possible :lovestruc

Phil and I were married after only going out together for 6 weeks too.......:)

We promised ourselves a 'vow re-newal' which we did, after 8 years, at the Royal Chapel on I Drive 2 years ago :thumbsup2

Here's mine back in 1988. My dress, along with many others, went up in flames a few weeks before the wedding when the wedding dress shop was set on fire by a teenage arsonist but luckily the firms all pulled their fingers out and we all got our dresses in time for our big days.

It's not very clear, I'll see if I can find a better pic to scan in.

Will try and get a piccie of mine soon.

Great to see how styles change!

That dress looked amazing on you Tammy, I really like the late 80s/early 90s style of dresses :goodvibes
6 weeks, wow!! I guess I should tell my bf to get a shifty on! :rotfl: We've been together over 3 1/2 years and have recently started getting asked when we're getting married  TBH I hadn't given it much thought, just always wanted it to be small and in either WDW or Las Vegas :) I reckon we'll mutually agree to do it in a couple of years, not exactly romantic I know but then again neither of us really are in the conventional sense!

Once again digital picture of originals so not the best quality but it gives an idea as to what my dress was like -

love the photo's - it just shows how much fashion has changed over the years.

Here are some of my day way back in 1994 at Cypress gardens in florida. I was not keen on my dress, WAY too much bling for me and check out those puffed sleeves!!!! OMG : but my Mum loved it and she couldn't come, so I had what she liked the most.
