Ginamarie that is a beautiful home. My sister-in-law lives in Comack, Long Island. How are your property taxes? Hers are pretty high. But I guess you get what you pay for. You look like you have a nice amount of property.

Oh yeah, Long Island has some of the highest property taxes in the country. Ours are about $6500 a year, and we have about 1/3 of an acre of land. Actually, in this area that's not so bad for taxes, but it's ridiculous compared to other parts of the country!

Commack is just a town away from me. :goodvibes I'm in Huntington Station.

Here is a picture of Dr.Snark's humble abode.

I tell you, we are having a heck of a time finding good help to keep it clean though. Perhaps I should contact Oprah?

And for those that are interested, it is worth around 600k and has 4 bedrooms, 3 baths and 3500 square feet and is built by a lower end builder. It is on a tiny lot.

One block over same size houses by better builder are around 750k.

Much cheaper up here in Bothell than in redmond though where old house...

Sold for 460k last July and is listed on zillow at $484k. It is 1640sq feet and was built in 1966.

I like it! Yes, it is pink, but I don't think in an obnoxious way. I've seen pink houses - real pink houses - and I don't think I'd describe your house as a "pink" house. I think it is more mauve, or brick colored.

And neutral is overrated in my opinon. Who needs neutral. :thumbsup2

I agree. Neutral is overrated and overdone. I like the pink :)

Nice houses!

Our colonial house in 2005:

Our backyard early last year:

Of course, there have been a lot of changes since then. ;)

Sideview pic of our first (manufactured) home which is now a rental in WA. I miss it dearly because we have family homes on the property, a barn and sheds, and have fruit trees and gardens galore lol... We will be going back there one day:

I know that housing prices are all about location but I can't imagine paying 400K for a house that is 1640 sq ft. I don't have a pic of my house but it is 1500 sq ft 3br 2 baths. We had it built for about 90K. My in-laws built next door and have a 2100 sq ft 4 br 2 baths for about 120K.

I'm not trying to be mean...housing prices just shock me sometimes.

All of the houses on this thread are very beautiful and interesting houses and I would love to say I owned some of them.

We were floored when we bought in back in 2000 for 250k that an old tiny house would be worth a quarter of a million. Then the price doubled.

I love looking at the pictures of all the beautiful homes. It is neat to see homes in different parts of the country. Here is a picture I took of my home in the spring.

Tressa I was amazed when we were in Seattle last month to see how prices have skyrocketed!

My little bitty rental by Triangle Park in Bellevue would easily be $550,000 now. Just blows my mind!

I miss it still sometimes (our girls were born there and its our first home) but its RIGHT down the street and we still own it. Actually, we're in the process trying to sell it after renting it out for a year.

Here's our new, one year young, home:

Here's my house... Single story 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, LR, DR, FR & pool - the "footprint is pretty square" - so it's as deep as it wide. I love my house - it's very FL - very casual!
Purchased 2003 (10 years old) for $170K, recently appraised for $330K - Zillow shows $328k. I have done about $25K worth of improvments - new roof (not paid for by insurance...minimal hurricane damage), tile floors on 1/2 of the 2,100 sq feet, interior painting, etc.

Ohhh, I love your house!

OP here - I was surprised when I checked back to see how many replies I had gotten. What beautiful homes and how interesting to hear about the difference in housing costs. We're lucky here in NC, 4 years ago we only paid $193,000. It's reappraised to $225,000 now. Doesn't go up as quickly as other parts of the country - we're pretty steady around here. My taxes are only $850 a year.

Nobody remarked on my place. Everyone elses but not mine and I've been waiting for days. :sad1:
