**Show Us Your Christmas Trees/Decorations**

DH always says he'd be happy not to have a tree, but this year is his first Christmas ever not working on the High Street in retail so he spent the M&S vouchers his bosses gave him on a new tree and some decorations. We're going to take a long hard look this year and throw away anything tatty (unless made by the DS's of course!). But I'm torn about a tree topper - I looked in the Disney Store and nearly bought Tinkerbell, but then I came over all traditional and decided I wanted a proper angel or star. Currently we have a home-made fairy - a doll from a charity shop with silver foil wings and a dress made out of an old pair of French knickers :rotfl: :lmao: inspired by one we had when we were kids (which my mum bought at a Christmas bazaar).

Does anyone remember the ballet dancer/fairy you used to be able to get in Woolworths, with a pink, blue or white net skirt on a posed plastic figure? We used to get a new one each year until Mum bought the bazaar fairy as I always used to grab it and play with it.

OK, I'll get back to work now :guilty:

I do :yay: We had a traditional fairy with a pink dress on the entire time I was growing up :goodvibes

I bought a proper traditional fairy from Walmart ~ It is so lovely and will be going on top of the tree again this year :thumbsup2

Is anyone putting their tree up this weekend, don't forget to post some piccies :thumbsup2

Hi.
we are putting ours up tomorrow(will show pics) the earliest ever for us, it is the first Christmas that DD has been really excited about so I am extra excited.

and how sweet is this,?she asked me what I was most looking forward to at christmas and I said seeing her open her presents. I than asked her the same question thinking she would answer something about christmas presents however she said making mince pies with mummy. Bless her she does not even care that I am a terrible cook and every one will eat the M&S mince pies before they even touch mine.

I remember the ones we made at nursery/school made out of a toilet roll tube. DD has not brought one home yet though though we have a few decoration that she made at nursery that will be on tree every year. She made a Christmas's cracker almost identical to the one my sister made at the same age.

I got the Disney ones from Disneyland Paris.

putting my tree up today i'm going to have to disconnect the pc as it's the only place that the tree can go so i'm afraid i can't post a photo :sad2:
My dad was going to extend the lead so i could have the pc in the back room but he's cracked a rib and i can't wait any longer for the tree to go up so it's bye for a while

Put ours up last night, will get some photo's up later :teeth:

We have put all ours up now (although the outdoor one has blown over 2 times in the high winds so I have moved it for a while until I can secure it better.) My Disney tree isn't quite finished though as I ordered a few more baubles from the US Disney site (they had 65% off!) so they should arrive on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Edit: for some reason my pics weren't showing even though I could see them! Wierd. So I'll have to uplaod them in a different way later.

Great Pics :thumbsup2

We don't put ours up until 12 days before Christmas, a tradition David brought with him when he moved in. We are having a real tree again this year so will probably go and buy it next week. I've heard that you should keep them outside in a bucket of water for a week before brining it inside :confused3

I can't wait to put my decorations on it though, I have lots that are from different places from around the World. Wherever I go I buy a decoration for me and my boss and she does the same.

Hope you dont mind me asking, but how much was the shipping? I have seen some lovely things on the us site but thought I'd get stung on the shipping.

I love the garden topiary Mickeys etc but being big I bet they'd be even dearer.

JNS - where did you get the Mickey head red and white swirly ones from?

Havent seen those before! Theyre lovely.

They are mine JNS was just posting a copy of my pictures which we couldn't see. The Mickey heads are lights and they came from the Christmas shop in Downtown Disney. My DH bought a voltage convertor so they would work.

The shipping for the US Disney site cost $30 which I didn't think was too bad considering the UK site charges £6.
