I'm bored and am always dreaming of how I'll decorate DD's playroom when we have a huge house with a basement. So show off your playrooms!

But I'm not posting anything the way it looks now (My Little Pony explosion)

We have two big rooms, plus the storage side, in our basement. One of the finished sides is their playroom. We lined one wall with bookshelves, another wall had the kitchen playset, dress up clothes storage. The third wall has two big magnetic white boards, and then their computer armoire fits into this one area.

In the middle is a big ol' 4 ft round kindergartener size table (was actually an old school table so it is HEAVY) that I bought off of eBay, and some plastic school chairs.

Give them lots of shelves. We have two 3 shelf units (Sauder probably) sandwiching matching long lowboy that has two shelves in each section.

Get some smaller plastic containers/bins/baskets to contain stuff. I like those fabric drawers, but you're putting crayons, pens, etc in them, the plastic hold up much better. I only put the fabric in their rooms and closets.

Here are some pictures of our playroom..its not finished yet..we plan to hire someone to paint WDW murals on the walls..I LOOOOOOOVE the Mickey on the floor!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome! I love the storage!

We just moved last summer and I am so loving the all space. Our basement is unfinsihed but we use one half of it as the girls playroom and the other half for my crafting, seasonal storage and gift/CVS stockpiling.

Now these are old pictures when we first moved in, about 2 weeks after the move but you get the idea.

I made sections for the girls with bookshelves, other shelves for their AG stuff, tons of plastic organizers for toys and crafting storage, under the steps is the dressup area, our old dinningroom table is used for crafting and a futon with the tv area.

The girls artwork is hung on the walls (duct tape, LOL) THe only thing we need right now is heat down there.

I actually got the idea when we were house hunting last year and made it my own. :goodvibes

LOL, Emma just said WOW that is our basement but it is way different now. Now is it messy.:lmao:

Thanks for the compliments!!:goodvibes

The Mickey is actually part of the carpet. The carpet store suggested this since they knew that I was a Disney freak!!! They just took a Mickey head picture that I found on the internet, blew it up on the computer, laid it on the carpet, and cut the shape out. Pretty cool huh???? I LOVE IT!!!!!!!

LOVE the carpet!!!!

OK....next step is to paint that train table to be a map of WDW and make it a MONORAIL TABLE! :rolleyes1

My MIL has a hot air space heater that is really pretty efficient. It's like a fan, just for heat. It works surprisingly well in her partially finished basement :thumbsup2
