Show me your Save The Dates!

We did a newsletter pretty early on so that people could book their rooms and airfare, and we let this serve as the "Save the Date".

Here are my homemade STDs with pre-reply card and newsletter. We sent them about a month ago - very early, I know - but we wanted everyone to have time to think about it and plan as we will all be travelling from the UK.
They were actually much nicer looking than they appear in these pictures and the tops of the Cinderella coachs in both the STD and the pre-reply had little gold 'jewels' on them! I was actually quite pleased with how they turned out.

Here's my save the date.

The outside:

Open that you find:

Untie the bow and take it out of the package and you have this. Pictured is the front of the card, with part of the back peaking out. I signed my name and embossed it in gold on the back of each one.

Its a "Z-card" that opens up in 3 panels. So open it up to reveal:

A close up:
Hopefully you can see the metallic shimmer paper and the Swarovski crystals!

I wrote the poem inside, and in case you can't read it in the photo, its:

The year was nineteen
ninety nine
when their paths crossed
it was divine.

Now ten years later
vows will be spoken
joining them in love
eternally unbroken.

They hope to see you
on that day
when the glowing bride
is given away.

Her handsome groom
awaiting her hand
not a more joyous occasion
in all of the land.

So please save the date
for it has been set.
The eighteenth of July
you best not forget!

Enclosed please find details
for accommodations
and this will be followed
by a formal invitation.

What started as friendship
and grew into love
they pray will be blessed
by the Lord up above.

Larisa and Nicholas
a tale of love, hope and laughter
but how will it end? (You guessed it ...)
Happily ever after!​

And then there is a folded card in the gold pocket on the far left of the folded out "z" that contains details and our STD magnet.

And a close up of the magnet.

So that's it. They are definitely complex for a STD, but I'm a graphic designer and this is what I love to do!!!

Hey girls! I figured I would throw my save the dates and newsletters on this thread. I've been working many many hours on these Save the Dates and Newsletters.. I'm going to order them later today.. Just wanted to give you guys a sneak peak, and let you all be my extra proofreaders!

Here's the Save the Date.. I'm going to get it printed on a 5x5 photo and them put them on a magnet backing myself.

And here's the 4 page newsletter that I'm going to have printed by either VistaPrint or Kinkos (whichever is cheaper).

(obviously I removed the last names due to privacy)

Feedback from you girls would be awesome! See ya real soon!

haha! thank you!! I always feel like a slacker when I see everyones amazing DIY projects on this board! So far all I've done are these on my computer, I feel like I need to start getting my hands dirty soon!

What program did you use to create the newsletter?

They did take a longggg time to do! But I think they will be worth it (I'm hoping so, anyway ::fingers crossed:: )

I have a Mac and I used Pages (their version of Word). They had a few different designed newsletter layouts.. I picked this one because it matches our colors, and then I removed and added stuff as I went on.
