Show Me: Your Non-Disney Vacation Spots

You mean there's somewhere to go vacation other than a Disney park?

Just kidding, of course! Unfortunately, most of my non-Disney-park pictures aren't on my "main" site yet... many of my favorite pictures were from Romania, our one trip (so far) off our normal continent. Hopefully we'll hit England before long, Tokyo at some point, Australia would be great, too. I have seen most of the USA on a month-long cross-country trip when I was a kid and hope to recreate that someday with my family.

But pictures that I have handy... let's see... my folks have a condo in Cape Coral, Florida, right on the canal, so I've been there a few times...

New York City is about six hours away, I've been there a handful of times. Another from the K1000...

Last fall we went to a conference in Saratoga Springs, NY (just a couple months before staying at SSR at WDW!)... this is from Congress Park with my Pentax DSLR:

In 2002 and 2003, we worked at the Susquehannock Trail ProRally, which takes place in Wellsboro, PA, near the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. Cars drive flat-out on gravel and/or muddy roads - it's my favorite kind of motorsport by far. Of course, to get to where it happens, you have to drive deep into the forest on some pretty slippery roads... these are from the Fuji.

Jeff your youngest has some of the cutest expressions... in the one with the shells, like she is withholding her decision on if she likes it or not till she does more research but it leaning toward.."it's yucky"

groucho, nice photos.... there is a really pretty rocky type/ledges place I think near watkins glen we have been to but i can't remember the name. do you know where i mean? it's driving me nuts not being able to remember it...guessing that would be NY though so what is the PS grand canyon place called?

Busch Gardens-Williamsburg

The Big Bad Wolf was the first "big" coaster I ever rode. The Loch Ness was the second. This park is the main reason my house is only 5 minutes from a theme park with 11 coasters now!

Cedar Point was great! We stayed at the Hotels Breakers and that was the view from our room!

That pic of Busch Gardens was taken in 2003. The most beautiful park in the US!

We have not been on a good vacation in a couple of years. We live right by Six Flags over Texas and we have world class museums here, so we do a lot of things many people only do on vacation right here at home. But here are a few from trips away from home....

i lived i Lubbock when i was in ele. school and we went to big bend..all i remember is my parents wouldn't let us get out of the car cause when we opened the doors we heard a bunch of rattlers aw family fun!

Seriously though, one of my earliest memories is stopping at a rest area in west Texas and my dad running at me to step on a baby rattle snake that was headed towards me. My mom said after that I refused to use the poty at a rest area!

Ahhh, I've been there, brings back great memories of VT. I went to college in Burlington and VT was like my second home. I continued to go back a couple times a year to visit friends even after I graduated but it's been about 10 years now since I was last there. I'm really hoping to get back this summer after reconnecting with one of my closest college roommates a few months ago.
