Just curious where everyone goes for vacation when they are not doing Disney. Here are a few of mine from the Smokey Mountains around Gatlinburg Tennessee from a few years ago. Let’s see your favorite shots from your last trip somewhere ‘else’ if it was a full blown vacation or just a weekend somewhere interesting.

What? A non-Disney vacation? :confused3 Growing up in NC, we frequently visited the Great Smokey Mountains and Gatlinburg Tennessee. I always enjoy spending time there. :goodvibes

Here are a few pictures from our trip to Sqawpan Lake in Northern Maine last summer. No TVs, no phone, ... very relaxing. We are going back again this summer. :thumbsup2

Think I've posted these before, but we spend some time on Lake Michigan every summer with some friends and family. Here are a couple that I took there last year. I'm a total beach bum, so we take as many beach vacations as we can.

NYC is another favorite spot of mine.

And I keep telling dh that we need to fit more European travel into our budget. :thumbsup2 Then again, we've had so many large expenditures in the last few months that dh told our 7yo the other day that she might be able to help drive the next time we go to Disney, so it doesn't look like there are any more overseas trips in my near future. :rotfl2: I promised her I wouldn't let that happen!

My favorite non-Disney vacation spot:

i'm lucky, Sydney's where i go whenever i come home from being on holiday. it's a great location for NYE fireworks, isn't it! :thumbsup2

we take a few trips every year. next month dw and i are going to china and tibet (taking the world's highest train). we've been all up and down the eastern part tons of times, so this trip will be special going west on part of the silk road. i'll post pictures when we return (or maybe even whilst i'm there).

Here's a few from a dive trip to Lauderdale by the Sea, Florida. We stayed in a small family owned hotel that was right on the ocean front. Took our gear and dove right off the back door!! Very nice.

I'm actually making the move in September. I'll be living up in the Hornsby/West Pennant Hills Area.

These 2 are from my last vacation. It was a cruise with a bunch of family friends to St. Martin and St. Thomas. They were gorgeous islands!

But I will include some of my pics from my spring break trip to NYC.

The Virginia Creeper Trail, the best (low impact) mountain biking in the East. 17 miles, all downhill!

Here are a few from travel agent years. Not the best of scans. Since our honeymoon we've only gone to Atlanta back in '01 other than Disney. ATL was just the weekend though for a wedding. So here are some older stuff.

Once I can get my scanner working again I'd like to rescan these at a higher DPI for better clarity.

Love seeing the pictures from Maine (ok, so I'm a little biased:teeth:). Besides the Maine pics there are some stunning photos on here, great thread!!

Our last trip was to WDW and a DCL cruise but prior to that we went to the US Virgin Islands last June. As much as I enjoy WDW our trip to the USVI was the best, most relaxing vacation ever. Can't wait to go back.

onya mate! you're in a decent part of town far enough from town but not too remote. you will quickly learn we don't really have freeways in sydney, but you're not far from a major train station.

look me up when you get here and we can go shooting.

for me - one of my favourite destinations is tokyo. the people are great and there are so many photographic opportunities - even touristy ones ;)
