Show me your Disney Wedding Pictures!

I know a lot of people are very against using Disney's Photographers for their Escape wedding, but has anyone actually used them and been happy with their pictures?

We're on a very tight budget and I wanted to avoid paying extra for outside photography if I could.

Ditto the tight budget. I am also hoping to be satisfied with DPS. Trying not to add on to the Escape budget

I don't think DPS is that bad, some of their photography actually looks really good! I have to use them for the in-park portion...we are thinking of paying the $350 (not exact price, can't remember) to add the photojournalism package, so that we have 2 photographers (in case one is awful)

Many people have used DPS, the only one I can think of right now is Heidi, who used it for her escape (I hope she doesn't mind me posting the link)

I'm curious what the issues are with Disney photography, too. If I need to use a different photographer for my wedding (I'm doing a Wishes wedding), then so be it, but are they really that bad to work with?

It is not that they are bad, people just seem to think they aren't very creative with their poses, etc. Personally, I have seen some excellent photos taken by Disney photographers. I imagine if you ask for a couple of poses that you love, you can for sure get them.

Since I started this post I guess I should update! Basically what I saw looking at their pictures was nothing better than what my guests could get with their own cameras. The pictures weren't bad but they didn't seem to have any real "style" to them. When I spoke to Vicki on the phone she mentioned the reason they left Disney was because of the bad reputation and the fact Disney wasn't trying as hard to be creative and unique with their photography. I'm so happy to have them booked for our wedding!

Besides differences in taste and style, the other problem a lot of us have with Disney Photographic is the price-to-value ratio. They charge a lot more for their prints, albums, hi-res picture discs than many local photographers and give you a lot less. This isn't really an issue for Escape weddings because the photography is included as part of the package. But for a Wishes event you're paying separately and need a photographer for a lot longer, so you may find you get better value by going with an independent photographer.

You won't regret going with David and Vicki Arndt. It really doesn't matter what style you like, because you will have two very expierenced professional photographers shooting your wedding. They are both very talented and artistic. I have personally worked with all the Disney Photographers and they were and still are the best. So many of us who work in the industry have requested them.

We had a great experience with the Disney photographer! We had TY and he was very sweet and made my husband and I feel so comfortable. To be honest, the photography wasn't a really big deal to us so we were really happy with how it came out. As we were doing photos we did request a few specific shots and he gave us everything we wanted. I think that unless you are really into the photos, the disney photographers are perfect for escape weddings.

Agreed. We had Paul who's no longer with DPS, but we were very happy with our pictures and have no regrets about using the 2 hours that came with our escape package. If we were doing a Wishes wedding, I might have considered outside photography just for cost. For reference, we got 187 pictures in our 2 hours, and we love them!
