which photoshop? i noticed ( free tryout) of elements5 has a b/w conversion and includes so red, green ,blue buttons and contrast as well as a bunch of different modes( ie landscape)
this is from the E5 tryout...going to do the same pic in alien skin and one from the "bob q tutourial" with some oblio advice from the other b/w thread i started and see what comes out :lmao:

I use Photoshop CS. I don't claim to be good at it, however. I'm still working on how to make the photos look more "wet" without becoming ridiculously contrasty.

Sometimes the best b&w comes from some very odd colors.

whoa! looks like some martian landscape :teeth:
i got a book on b/w( can't remember the author and it's upstairs ) but it has a lot on not only good subjects ( ie oblio's great little kid and his apron) but also conversion from color...it's for digital so maybe that will help me( also got understanding exposure and missing manual for photoshop e 5...barnes and noble liked me last night :rolleyes1 :teeth:)

Everyone's photos are wonderful. I can just about see Andy & Opie walking toward the water with their fishing poles in this one.
Thanks for sharing all of your great works.

Very cool... the b/w really brings out the texture of the sand.

Thanks for sharing.
