Should've done it in 1992.

DW and DS stayed in CR during 11/92. Seems as though the going rate per point was $52.50 then. Was this the original offering price and any idea how many people actually bought at this (now, low) price?

We bought ealier in '92 for $51 per point. There are several here that bought in early '92 and late '91 for $50 per point. I believe there are one or two people that bought right at the begining and got some pre-opening price or something that was even less.

We are very happy with our decision. I don't know many who bought a timeshare 10 years ago that coud sell it for a nice profit now.

We purchased in December of '91. It was $51.00 a point, 230 point minimum, 0% financing for the first year.

We've done add-ons since.

We saw the info about it on our '91 trip, but didn't buy until '97.

HOW DUMB WAS THAT?!? Not only did we buy at $10 per point more, but we missed out on the passes!

We started looking into DVC in Spring of 1991. Could not buy (due to laws of our state, we bought through the mail) until later that year. I thought the price was $50 per point, but hubby says it was $51. I never saw it lower than that, but I think if you bought on-site you got some kind of pre-construction discount. We finally bought in Dec 1991. I remember calling in the spring and asking the CMS about it and nobody knew what we were talking about. Finally one CM got on the phone and asked us how we knew about a Disney timeshare because they weren't advertising it yet. We couldn't even get any info until Oct of 1991. Never thought twice, just signed and sent it back as soon as we could. We would have bought even earlier, but we weren't able to get down to Florida that year.

Awhile back, I tried to put together a point cost history by gathering info from the folks who post here. The lowest was a pre-construction price of $48 per point. The opening price was $51.

The pre-construction sales got me thinking....isn't that a precedent for starting sales before a resort is complete? That makes it seem like it would be possible for DVC to pre-sell BCV if they so desire.

hi: another regret here. first heard about it in 93 and turned it down for point and financial reasons. the okw contract could've been paid for by the time bwv opened. oh well, he who hesitates is lost.

I think anyone who has joined wishes they had done so at the outset. My gosh, the free park passes alone should have made it a no brainer! :(

But rather than kick myself about missing 9 years, I congratulate myself on the next 41 years! :bounce:

Point in late 92 with a 230 point miminum and those free park tickets were a great perk for us.

When we bought in Feb. 92, the price was $51 per point, 230 min.

PamOKW:

Here is my version of the point cost history, at least starting with when we bought:
Feb '92 & prior = $51 per point
March 1, 1992 = $53 per point
June 1, 1992 = $54.50 per point
November 1, 1992 = $56 per point
June 1, 1993 = $57.50 per point
November 15, 1993 = $59 per point
June 15, 1994 = $60.50 per point
Nov. 1994 = $61.50 per point
July 1, 1995 = $62.75 per point
February 1, 1999 = $65.00 per point
May 14, 2000 = $67.00 per point
January 14, 2001 = $72.00 per point
June 3, 2001 = $75.00 per point
