Shouldn't there be some rumors by now

I for one am hoping that Southwest has their Birthday Sale this week. I have seen some speculation that possibly Tuesday. I googled "southwest airlines birthday sale" and it seems to get released around the middle of June.

My flight down is good, $109 but my flight back :scared1: $275 :scared1:

Thanks for the heads up! I'll watch on tuesday. If you think about it and see it, will you post back here? :teeth:

Definitely! I check Southwest's website several time a day. AirTran has good prices for our plans, but unfortunately, the baggage fees kill it for us. As I know you can appreciate, we do several character meals, and "dress" for each one. :rotfl:

I'm just on pins and needles... if there is a discount then our Nov. trip is a definite. If not, then it's being pushed back to 2012. :sad2:

Same here. I am just about at the acceptance stage of no trip in 2010,( the denial stage was long :lmao:) but if free dining comes out and Southwest drops the air fare... we are in! But I am OK knowing my DH gave the go ahead for Dec. 2012 so at least I have that to plan

Wishing everyone :wizard::wizard::wizard: for their discounts!!

LOL! You're right. The baggae fares on Airtran would kill us. I did check Airtran recently and their fares were identical to Southwest, so not even close to a deal when you consider the baggage fees.

BTW...... your little Drizella is adorable! :cutie:

Count me in on the Oct discount wish-list! If they haven't done anything by my paid in full date of Aug 21st, then I think I'll cancel and stay on points at Hilton Bonnet Creek or try for last minute dvc point rental at AKL. Hmmm

Amen to waiting for those rumors and discounts!:thumbsup2 But I don't check WDW website first, I check the Disboards.:surfweb: They are much faster with the news.

Add us to the waiting list...we're flexible with dates but are thinking Oct/Nov would be fantastic. We'd love FD or even a really great room only discount since we still have unused 2-day tickets from a previous trip. We're not picky.

I did have a dream the other night that FD was extended thru 12/16, so I hope that comes true!:lmao:

Me too! Waiting anxiously to book for a grand reunion.
But I am worried I won't be able to check the rate online because the current discount code up to Oct 1st keeps on including park tickets as a package and not just room only rate.:headache:
I have cleared out all my cookies, try different computer in my house. Just about everything but it still give me a package deal.
I so do not want to have to call CR for inquiry....dear me!:scared:

Anybody have any idea? THANKS in advance.

That's the same thing I'm running into. The flight down is around $99. The flight back is over $300. How does that even make sense?

I would love just one decent rumor right now!!!

Joining in! We are booked for 9/30 to 10/8 with a 40% off pin, but open to a better deal. :cloud9:

Consider going midweek to midweek, instead of weekend to weekend. It's what I'm considering for this December because Southwest's weekend prices are so high. I'm thinking it's still the same number of days out of school, same number of days off work for my husband. it's only about a two hour flight for us and the kids are older (9 & 12) so we don't need recovery time! I can do roundtrip, nonstop from Columbus, OH to MCO for $200 per person vs. closer to $450 for the same flights on a Saturday or Sunday. We're waiting for free dining, though, so that's my only possible hiccup - have to work within those free dining dates.

Unfortunately, the $275 return trip is a Tuesday, which usually is a decent price. The week prior is about $200 r/t, but unfortunately we have a family wedding and can not change our plans. I really want to go to the MNSSHP, but really do not want to go in Sept due to the heat.

I think it is a conspiracy to drive me crazy. If the rack rates don't get ya, the airfare will. Who would have thunk that planning a vacation could be so much work :confused3

I got excited today when I saw an email from Disney Destinations - but it did not contain any special offer. I've been on the Disney site a time or two looking at possibilities for October 2011 - but the email just contained selected pictures of POR. :sad2::sad2:

Hi,

I'm planning on going in the first fortnight in October and hopefully some offers will come out soon ( just now the wilderness lodge is pricing at $330per night)

Regards

TBS

Hope you get some pixie dust for your first 2 wks in Oct.

P.S. I was born in Falkirk! I live in Canada now, I came here when I was 3. :rolleyes1

If there's no rumor within a fortnight, I'd be happy to start one........... ;)

Anyone else think airfare might edge down some if the world's economies continue to tank and oil continues to edge down?

Right now Southwest has $144 each was KC to Orlando. I was getting close to buying, but now that oil is edging down......... Hmmmmmm.........

Please go ahead but make it good...:lmao: I am hoping they go down we have a cruise booked for Jan. 2012.

I know me too, I forget what it was now...but it sure was not a pin...:lmao:

DH and I decided to travel mid-week this trip, Wed to Tues, one reason air fare is cheaper, plus we can pick up the dog easier on weekends Best Friends here where we live only has a very limited pickup and dropoff window. Also last time we traveled mid-week, the airports and ME and RAC were all less busy than previously when we traveled on weekends.

I have recieved a few of the "resort picks" emails , with no pin attached

I ended up creating my own "discount" I was booked at BC with a 20% off pin but DH and I decided to switch to WL, we know we love WL since we stayed there before twice, it happens to be DH favorite plus it shaved another $468 off our cost. We just could not chance waiting for a better discount and then maybe there being no availablility where we want to stay by the time Disney releases a new promo, when? July? August? :confused3

Count me in on the waiting game. :/ I'm hoping something comes out soon, but I have a feeling we won't see any discounts or offers until late July. UGH!!! The waiting is killing me.......slowly! lol
