WE currently have ddp and I am seriously trying to decide if we should upgrade to dxdp.
We are 2 adults travelling in Dec for 8 days. I have SO many good ADRs and I dont know if it is worth it to pay OOP or just upgrade!

OPINIONS PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would take a look at your additional ADR's that you have. Use this as your base. Not what you COULD get, but what you have. I am assuming that what you have is what you really want and think your family will eat.

Look at the menus, will you spend $32 more per night for these additional meals? If you will or if you're close, then I'd think you're a great candidate for upgrading.

If you've got a lot of breakfast ADR's that will cost you about $20 (and your evenings and lunches are covered by the current DDP), then you're a perfect candidate for having the regular DDP and paying OOP for your breakfasts.

Good luck with whatever you decide. :goodvibes

Ok so I guess I could be a little more clear!
As of right now these are the ADRs we have

12/9
chef mickeys-b

12/10
Cp- b
crt-d

12/11
50ptc-L
le cellier-d

12/12

CMC- b
R&C-D

12/13
kona-b
MM-D

12/14
Coral Reef-L

12/9
chef mickeys-b - $48.79 (2 Adults)

12/10
Cp- b - $40.45 (2 Adults)
crt-d - $91.57 (2 Adults)

12/11
50ptc-L - $50.19 (2 Adults)
le cellier-d $90.53 (2 Adults)

12/12
CMC- b $40.45 (2 Adults)
R&C-D $69.23 (2 Adults)

12/13
kona-b - $73.49 (2 Adults)
MM-D - $66.01 (2 Adults)

12/14
Coral Reef-L - $80.92 (2 Adults)

Your total cost for the adults on your plan would be $651.79
Your total cost for the DxDDP is $979.86 for 2 adults 7 nights/8 days
I can't imagine that CS would cost $328.07 on CS over 7 days for the 2 of you.

If you use the regular DDP it is $531.86. You will have 14 credits which would cover:
LeCell $90.53 - Ordering Most expensive items
Coral Reef $80.92 - Ordering Most expensive items
Kona $73.49 - You'd have to order the $12 Breakfast, two press pots, two OJ's
Rose & Crown $69.23 - Ordering most expensive items
Mama Melrose $66.01 - Ordering most expensive items
50's PTC $50.19 - Ordering most expensive items
Chef Mickey $48.97

CRT breaks down to $22.89/credit, so it's hardly worth the 2 TS credits. Crystal Palac and Cape May are both worth barely over $20/credit as well.

Using the DDP as I outlined above, you'd pay $172.47 OOP. You could minimize your costs by ordering less at other places, but I wanted to draw out the plan for you so it'd be "Money is No Object" when ordering. This it the max that it should cost you with your current plan. If you feel that you'd LIKE more TS meals - then you'd be closer to breaking even on the DxDDP.

Tricia

Thanks- I just sat here and kind of worked out the same breakdown you did.
I really dont plan on spending my entire time at wdw at a table eating!!!!!
So I think for now I will stick with ddp.
Even when I added in CS and snacks and the refillable mug, it didnt seem to be enough!
I am thinking of canceling CRT- I have never been in/eaten in the castle so I thought it would be nice, even though I dont think I need to use 2 TS on it!

Thanks for all of your help! I was just trying to figure if it was easier not to have to worry about money for the meals we dont have covered.
I hardly eat 2 meals a day to begin with- 5ft1 and 105 lbs- cant fit much in me!
My husband loves to eat!! So I dont think anything would go to waste- I just rather not pay for something we dont end up using!

at WDW right now, 2nd time this year. Have to say again that cannot believe we would ever get the DxDDP...Lordy, they give you sooooo much food on the regular DDP. We are stuffed (and believe me, not a skinny little thang, either...fully figured, pooh-sized woman married to a normal sized guy with a good appetite.) There is no way we could even eat breakfast. We do counter service lunch, table service dinner and use the snack credit to buy pastries for breakfast the next day. Occasionally buy an OOP snack in the park, but mostly too full from the lunch or dinner. Unless you're doing all 2 TS dinners I'd say no way on the deluxe plan.

Where did you come up with $73 at Kona?

$24 for two breakfast Platters
$15 For two Press Pots
$6 For Two Orange Juices....

ACK - Just caught my error, it'd be half of that. I doubled it in the equation prior to tax and then again post tax.

As I was doing it I kept thinking - This is AWFULLY high. I overestimated the power of two press pots of coffee.

Sorry for the error :goodvibes

Oh good I am glad it was human error and not the fact that Mickey wanted my left arm in exchange for breakfast!!!!

Hahaha! And I looked at the DDP for 2009, so I think we are safe for another year!
You are from WI? Packers fan,are ya?

I am, I think it's a birthright. Dad always 'encouraged' his kids to watch the games with bribes of popcorn and a bottle of soda. BIG stuff in the early 80's for a kid. (To his horror though I wanted to be a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader for a brief period - thankfully I grew out of that)

It is a birthright. I was born and raised in CT and my grandfather and father are both Packers fans. Everyone always thinks it so odd that someone who grew up in CT is a Packers fan!
Early 80's? Seems as though we could be around the same age!
I broke my ankle during a playoff game and my father told me to "walk it off" because he thought I was crying wolf and he just wanted to watch the game! To this day, with or without Favre, I am a Packers fan!
