Should we tip DME driver?

I just used DME two weeks ago and I tipped the driver $5. Most of the other passengers on the bus also tipped him around $5 per couple. Our driver did have a sign above the dashboard with his name and "Gratuities Appreciated" on it. HTH

Although of course it's not required, it would be customary for you to tip the driver. Just because the service is free should have NOTHING to do with it. Think of it this way. Let's say someone bought you a restaurant gift certificate for your birthday that covered the cost of your meal. After the waitress brought you your check, would you simply give her the gift certificate or would you also tip her based on the retail cost of the meal?

Disney DOES pay the tips of Bell Services CMs for getting your checked luggage to "magically" appear in your hotel room, but the DME drivers, employees of a subcontractor, do not receive any "tip" money from Disney. AGain, it's a matter of personal choice, it's not a requirement, but IMHO I think tipping the DME driver for even adequate service is quite appropriate.

I drive one of the DME busses and I will tell you from my point of view that it is really up to you how much you tip and even if you tip.

Some days very few people tip us. Today, I had 55 people on the bus (a full load) and only made about $8.00 in tips. That was a total of 3 people.

I treat everyone like I know they are going to tip me but sometimes its tough when the odds are against you.

Also, when the baggage guys at the airport handle your luggage, that is a free service and they get paid by tips. Most people will tip the baggage guys right in front of us and then not tip us for handling the same bags twice (once on the bus and once off the bus.)

Anyway, we appreciate it, it helps us out and it is customary to tip.

We did. On the way to our resort our driver loaded 2 bags and we tipped her $4.00. On the way to the airpost we didnt tip, because we had already checked our bags and the driver didnt load anything for us.
