Should we take bikes / leaving next week

Hello everyone,
We are heading out next week for our very first trip to Disney and FW. I have read a lot on the forum about how large FW is. So my question is, should we take bikes or just use the busses? We have two little ones, 6yo & 7yo.

I really wanted to avoid having to take them, but if we need them then I will. I would assume we would only be riding to the pool and to the boats.

Also, should I call and request a special loop? We are pulling a 24' camper and don't have any pets with us.

Any other suggestions? We check in next Sunday the 3rd!!!

I would bring the bikes unless room is an issue. You could bring roller blades if room is a problem. It all depends on how you want to get around the campground and how much time you'll be at the Fort.

Yes, I would definitely bring the bikes. My two boys loved riding their bikes around the loop while we were cooking and then we rode our bikes everywhere -- to the trading post, the settlement area/marina, the pools, etc. Having the bikes really made our trip.

Yes bring your bikes! DH and I would ride to the trading post, the swimming pool etc. Much more relaxing than a bus or car.

Even though bikes are a pain to transport they are fun to have at FW.

I ended up with a hole in the back of my travel trailer before I got the right combo for carrying bikes. It was a tough lesson.

DW and I solved the bike transportation issue by getting folding bikes. They are made by Dahon and we have used them camping for the last 5 years. They are really slick and easily fit in the back of the truck.

Being able to bike around the Fort is one of the top 10 reasons why we love camping there. I would never go there without my bike. We love riding over to the WL for dinner.

Bikes are a must at FW, my kids could not imagine going without bikes......
