Should we start at the beach or Disney World?

We have done nickelodeon hotel (not exactly the beach but still more relaxing) and disney two trips each way. From our experience I would recommend ending with the beach but if the crowds are a big deal you just have to weigh your options of what is more important.

We are considering a trip to Florida next year that will start several days before Easter and go until the Saturday after Easter with half the trip at Disney and the other half at the beach. Currently we are trying to decide if we should start at the beach or Disney. If we start at Disney, we will be there over Easter weekend.

Where should we start--at Disney or the beach?? Any thoughts or advice? Thank you!

I guess it depends on your personality. I don't love the beach, but my family does. So I'd rather do the beach first then end at my happy place DISNEY WORLD

I'd say it depends on how much energy you're going to expend at the beach. You need all your energy and patience for Disney...so if you like to go to the beach to chill out then I'd say beach first to relax and charge up the batteries in preparation for Disney. But if you're going to be constantly playing in the waves and swimming at the beach then I'd say do Disney first rather than wearing yourself out at the beach and then having nothing left in the tank.

I could make arguments either way, and I think the previous posts have captured them nicely. Either way I'm sure you'll have a great time!

We are going in May next year to Vero and WDW. We plan to do beach first to sleep in and help adjust to eastern time zone (we're west coasters).

We just did this last week. We were VERY thankful that we had beach recovery time after 4 days at Disney which included Star Wars weekend crowds. We considered hitting Disney again for one last day after 4 days at the beach before flying back home but we opted for another day of relaxation, and we are a family of Disney lovers. Heat and crowds make Disney so much more tiring than our trips in the winter.

We are doing the beach first and then Disney. I always feel like it takes a few days into vacation to relax from work and the real world. I would rather do that at the beach and then have the excitement of Disney. We are not commando people though so our Disney schedule includes pool time every day.

Last summer we did a week at the beach then 3 days at Universal. DH and I agreed we should have flipped the trip. No matter how we tour, we always feel like we come home needing a vaca from our Disney vaca. As long as you go with the mindset that they are two different ways of vacationing you will probably be happy to still be on vacation after leaving Disney.

We've done this two ways in the past:

Disney 2 days, beach, Disney 2 more days
Beach for a few days, then Disney a few days after

The first option there we drove farther south to the Keys and the bookending with Disney on both ends help break up the driving. The second option we stayed at a beach much closer to Disney.

I would probably avoid the parks on Easter weekend and start with the beach on the front end, but you can't go wrong either way. Sounds like a fun trip!
