OK, we are going HOME in August for the first time to SSR and can't wait. However, since we are going for 12 nights I have been wondering if maybe we should split our time between SSR and say BWV or BCV. I was thinking like 7 nights at SSR and then move to BCV for the last 5 nights to see another resort and be closer to the parks. Any opinions?

12 Nights? :cool1:

Good for you! I would definately consider splitting your stay. That is just about 2x the amount of time most people stay, so it wouldn't feel like you had just gotten there only to move again.

I think checking out different resorts is a great idea. I would split my stay if it were that long. We visit on average 3 times a year for 15 to 18 nights and try to stay at at least 2 different resorts during the year. Have a great time! :wizard:

I would definitely split my stay. That would give you 2 different vacations. If you go to the BC/BWV save your epcot/MGM days for then as you're closer to the parks.

Also, SAB at the B/C is a great pool, you could spend the whole day there. My home is the BWV but I wanted to check out the BCV on our 4 day stay, so we stayed 3 days at BWV and 1 night at the BCV. (On the day of the switch we went to Epcot and just walked over to the BCV around 3:30 to check in). Disney took care of all our luggage transfer and our luggage was in our room 10 minutes after check in. Both resorts are GREAT but a little different. The BWV have more going on and the BCV are more relaxing.

Enjoy your trip.

I vote to split too. Remember that DVC will move your luggage. That way you could do DDP for some butnot for all. I do not think that I could eat that much for 12 days.

I vote for a split stay too. Since you're new DVC members, this might be a good opportunity to check out some of the other DVC resorts. As to whether BCV or BWV, part of it may depend on which is available. I'm partial to BCV but you might like either.

We have done both.

Last summer we stayed a month at WDW on points! LOL! We stayed at BCV 12 nights and SSR for 13 nights with Tampa/Clearwater for the weekend in between.

Last Christmas we stayed 12 nights and split 5 nights at BCV and 7 nights SSR.

I tell you, it was really nice to have a nice long stay at one Resort. We really felt like we lived there for 12 nights.

But 12 nights is what our vacation will most likely be from now on, and I would definitely split it 5 nights at BCV and 7 at SSR. 5 nights is the minimum stay for us before a move. I like to unpack and settle in.

We are scheduled for 12 nights at BWV in May, and I am already getting restless, so we may split it yet still. I know we will really miss SSR and BCV but we are trying to save points and stay Standard view.

HTH!

I'd definitely split.

I love to split. It's like 2 different vacations. I'd do SSR & BCV. SSR because it is new and BCV because it has Stormalong Bay, the Boardwalk and 2 major parks within walking/boating distance.

I am green with envy!!!!!!!!!!!

I say split it's nice to see the other resorts. Have a great vacation.

We are in the same boat for our honeymoon. We have a total of 12 nights so I think we are going to spend the first 6 in SSR and the last in OKW

Well the decision did not take long. After a very brief conversation with DW we decided to go ahead and pull the switch/split  . We will do the first 7 nights at SSR and then move to BCV - if they have availability (please say they do -the trip is August 13 through 25). We were planning an off day on day 8 anyways so the hour or two of packing and unpacking is really no problem. I am just soooo excited about actually going home for the first time.

I am looking forward to our split stay! All of the resorts have something different to offer and that is part of the fun :) Good luck and remember that you can always waitlist.

We usually stay 12 nights also and split our stays. This June we'll have 6 nights at SSR and then another 6 at BWV. Last year it was OKW and BCV; before that it was VWL and BCV. It is a great way to try the different DVC resorts. This will be our first stay at SSR and I'm looking forward to it.

Well, here's the deal. Called and actually got strait through to Member services today to inquire about the posibility of changing. BCV was "no availability and a long wait list" so I asked to be put on the list. Then I thought why not ask about BWV and Josh at member services informes me that there is preferred view availability for my requested time. I jumped on it. Not exactly where I wanted but a short walk to EPCOT can never be looked at as settling in my eyes.

Now being new to the DVC can anyone give me some details on BWV? I can really feel the excitement building now :Pinkbounc  :bounce:

OK, here comes the flood of questions. Are there any areas we should request with our preferred view reservation? It would be neat if we could see EPCOT from the room. Is the noise level above the Boardwalk bad for poor sleerers like myself? These are the first of many so your experienced help is appreciated. :goodvibes

Come on guys; I know there are some of you who can help and give me some details about BWV. Anyone, Anyone???

Have had no problems with noise. I think BWV have better views then BCV,With BCV you get view of poolor roadway. Some of the rms can be a long walkfrom the elevators.
