Should We Skip WL Whispering Canyon Cafe?

I second the "been there, done that" sentiment! We went with our DD and another family...and while the kids had a great time with all the games and antics, all of us adults were less than thrilled with our meals.

We just went and really liked it. It was fun for our DS, and the food was all right. A table over from us was a lady with two kids. You could tell she was tired and looked like she had a pounding headache. She told the waitress that she wasn't feeling well but had to feed her kids and could they just bring the stuff with no antics. They quietly brought her a bottle of ketchup and the waitress was very nice. So if you're not comfortable with the antics, tell your waiter/waitress that. Ultimately, they're working for their tip, so will do what you ask!!

I think it's a place you have to try once. I just ate there the other night for the third time, and I'm done with it now. The antics are fun...the food was just ok. We were on the dining plan, but without it, it was almost a $200 meal for BBQ. For AVERAGE BBQ.

Since you are staying at the WL (you will LOVE IT!!), you should go...but it may be a once and done for you as well. You never know!

I would consider my family very introverted. But we LOVE Whispering Canyon Cafe. In fact, my DH who is a very quiet guy requests it for every trip. We had a great server (Hickory) who was VERY loud and funny. We just sat back and enjoyed. I think she could sense that we were pretty quiet, so she didn't put us on the spot by making us do anything in front of everyone. (Example: She yelled LOUDLY across the restaurant at us several times. She just didn't make us yell back at her.) We went for a late lunch, and there weren't a lot of others in the restaurant. Maybe you should try something like that, but I do think you should give it a try.

We're staying at WL for the first time - 82 more days (but who's counting :lmao:)

I made sure to make an ADR at WCC. My boys are pretty outgoing so I think they'll get a kick out of the antics. I've heard the food is not the best but we're not a picky family so I'm sure we'll find something we'll enjoy. :thumbsup2

We have been to WCC twice. We really enjoyed the food the first time. The 2nd time the food was just ok/marginal. My kiddos are shy/non-joiners so all the antics are just not a pull for us. That said, if I were staying at WL, I'd probably eat there. I would not make a special trip.

I've never eaten lunch or dinner there but on our last stay at the WL we ate breakfast there twice because it was so good. You get an all you can eat skillet with sausage gravy biscuits, eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage links, and mickey waffles for about $15 a person. Not bad prices for Disney, and it's really really good. If you don't want to be part of the antics just let your server know, we did and we had a good time watching everyone else.
