I would appreciate any advice /experience with this...

We are traveling with 2 babies in September. Both still in diapers and one who will be eating strictly baby food and formula. We are flying and I am wondering if I should just take an extra bag for the diapers and such, or just ship it to the GF prior to our arrival.

:) Thank you for your insight :)

Back in December, my sister shipped diapers and formula to the hotel with no problem. The box was waiting for her upon arrival.

Best thing we ever did! Cost about $25 but everything was waiting for us. We also had perishables (fruit and milk, plus heavy bottled water) delivered by wegoshop.com and that also turned out great. My younger DS will be 2 by our next trip so we won't need to ship but I will be doing wegoshop again.

8 years ago a pack of 12 regular Huggies (not premium) was over $6 and the individual RTF bottles of Similac were around $2 each at the general store place on the Boardwalk. I specifically asked DH to let me go to Publix, he's like,no, jsut buy what you need here. I almost dropped my teeth!

If you are renting a car I would just pick it up on the way to the resort......but if not shipping a package is a very good option, especially the way the airlines have cracked down on luggage limits etc these days.

I shipped stuff a couple of years ago. No problem at all. When I got there it was there waiting for me. I shipped diapers, wipes, water bottles, snacks and juice boxes. Worked out great. I shipped UPS. Good Luck

I shipped snacks and water bottles to POFQ and the package was there when I arrived. Only bad thing was that I had to be in the room and sign for it (sent via UPS) whereas my luggage "magically" appeared in our room while we were out at dinner.

Would highly recommend sending stuff to the resort. Be sure and put your name, res. # and date of arrival clearly marked on the box.

My shipment arrived a few days before we got there. We stayed at The Contemporary. I just asked for it at the front desk. I did put my arrival date, hotel's address and my name on it. I had called the Resort before sending it.

Want to point out the obvious--take at least a days worth of everything over and above what you think you'll need just in case your box goes missing.

thank you for all of the responses! this really helps! :sunny:

Wegoshop is awesome! Used them last week. Bought the exact brand of diapers I wanted. Also had them get me a box of Cheerios -the ultimate baby appetizer! The fee they charge is very minimal.

I have to agree with everyone who recommended www.wegoshop.com . We used them in June and it was great, they bought exactly what I ordered, it arrived right on time, the service was friendly and the price was reasonable!

I just shipped two boxes of diapers, wipes, baby food, snacks, juice, swim diapers, etc. to the Polynesian. It cost $38 for both boxes. I put our name, ressie# and arrival date on the boxes. The UPS guy said it would be at the resort by Friday. We're getting there on Monday the 25th so I'm hoping the boxes will be waiting for us. This worked out to be the best option for us b/c with a two year old (still in diapers BTW  ) and a 1 year old, I can't possibly fit anything more into our suitcases!

Have a great trip!

Based on on the wonderful advice you have all given me I am now trying to decide if I should ship or go through wegoshop. Do you think it will be about the same price for each? I mean do I buy my stuff and then pay to have it shipped, or have wegoshop pick it up for me and pay a service charge? Forgive me if this sound like a silly question, but at the time of our trip our kidos will be 22 months and 8 months...the more organized momma can be the better!! :sunny:

Traci, your babies are beautiful! I went on the wegoshop site and the fee was like $15 for up to $100, I'd say it's probably worth that. That way if something doesn't arrive you could probably get customer satisfaction from them a lot easier than dealing with our lovely postal service or a premium carrier. I just returned a small box to the Palm store in Louisville, KY yesterday, insured through the Post Office it was almost $7 just for that, less than 2#. Good luck, you'll love GF, it's a great place with little ones. Make sure to take a little time to relax in the lobby and listen to the band in the afternoon/ evening.

I have shipped a box to my resort for our last 3 trips. Our twins were 7 mos. old, 13 mos. old, then 18 mos. old. I love to do my own shopping and really enjoy packing my box and mailing it down. It is always waiting for me at the resort when I arrive. I mail it through the post office and it normally costs around $30 or so to mail. I print on the label:
HOLD FOR GUEST (my name)
DATE OF ARRIVAL (my date)

Thank you again ladies :)
I still have some time to decide but I will take this into consideration. btw, thank you Robin for the sweet comment about my babies :flower:
