Should we rent a car?!

We are taking a quick 4-day stay at the AKL on July 31st and are now wondering if we should reserve a car. Our worries are the weather--usually 90's and rainy--and bus waits. We are using ME to get from MCO to our resort. Now that there more people sharing the AKL buses, will our waits be long and miserable? Should we just spend the extra $ and book a small car? (It will just be DH and I.) The rental costs for those dates are very high!

DW and I always rent a car while at Disney from MCO - nice to be able to come and go whenever wherever with no waiting. And on checkout day we pack up the car and hit a park - having a few more hours not using ME for the return to MCO.

I always rent a car....its the only way to go.
Some will say, Disney transportation is great...and it is without a doubt. But When Im on vacation, I like the convenience a rental car provides.

A rental car provides freedom. I want to get a meal outside of disney, hit a discount store to save on disney shirts and merchandize, go to a mall, Seaworld, Universal.

A rental car is well worth the money.

But there are those that will debate this to their dying breath.
