DH and I are taking our 2 kids to WDW in September. They are 7 and 4 years old. On our first trip last year we did not go to Epcot. I am torn on whether or not we should spend one of our 4 park days to go this year or not. It's not that I think they wouldn't like it but I'm not sure they would enjoy it as much as the other parks. I've never been so it's hard to judge.

Help me decide. My 90 day window is coming up and I need to make a decision.

Thanks for your help. :earsgirl:

If the adults like Epcot...go. The kids are old enough to enjoy the park, and BIG KIDS need to have fun too.

Enjoy your trip.

I think you should go to Epcot.

First of all, it is a totally different experience for them, as they have never been. Secondly, there is so much to see now.... from Soarin' to Test Track - both rides which they will love. The Crush Turtle show is supposed to be cute.... and the character interaction at Epcot is terrific too.

I would just get there first thing in the morning and enjoy the early part of the day......
World showcase has the Kid Stops where they can make a mask at each country.... you can spend the afternoon there if that works out.

Hope you enjoy your day!

I agree, if you are interested you should go. My 7 and 4 yo liked it better than MGM. We mostly just poked around and barely made a dent in the park. The stroller was a necessity. They loved Soarin'.

Definitely go!! The first trip we took our DDs on (DD1 was 3.5 and DD2 was 6 mo), our plan was to go to MK, then AK, then back to MK to get whatever we missed (this trip occurred before I found the DIS and we were staying off site). Well, DD1 was flipping out over characters, and not having much fun (some but not a lot) on the rides. Even the mild ones! DD2, well she just didn't care as long as she was fed on time!

After 2 days of fighting DD1 with characters and rides, DH and I decided that we would go to EPCOT our final day since EPCOT is my and DH's favorite park. We figured of DD1 wasn't going to be happy, then we were!

To this day, Epcot ranks #2 on the favorites list. As DDs have gotten a little older (now 6.5 and 3.5), MK has moved into the #1 spot, but they love Epcot!! Definitely take your kids. Future World is awesome and the Kidcot stations are great. And whether or not they believe it, your kids will learn while having fun!

Go! I think your kids will find many things to enjoy there!! My family LOVES Epcot and we never seem to spend enough time there. Turtle Talk With Crush, Soarin', Journey Into Your Imagination, Test Track, World Showcase...the list goes on and on! Have fun planning! :flower:

I'd definitely go! My dd8 and dd4 both liked epcot. Soarin was awesome and my 8 year old really liked test track. The Crush interactive show is alot of fun too! My dd4's favorite ride in all of WDW was Spaceship Earth...the one in the big ball. It is a very slow ride and I thought it was pretty cheesy, but dd4 consistently says it was her favorite ride. My least fav park was MGM....not a whole lot to do for my dd4 to do...there were a few shows but no rides she was interested in riding.

Another vote to go ::yes:: . Although my DD is a bit older (11), on our last day we were deciding whether to return to Epcot for the second time this trip or MK. DD voted Epcot. There's tons of attractions for younger kids and Soarin' is not to be missed!

I would advise you to definately go! My DD5 really enjoyed; Test Track, Journey Into Your Imagination, the ride in Mexico, Honey I shrunk The Audience, making cookies at The Land, Illuminations, making masks in The World Showcase. And we are really excited to see the new show Turtle Talk with Crush. There really is lots to do there. I think you would be surprised at how much you will like it. It can be a a little overwhelming because it is really large and it involves alot of walking but it is really beautiful especially the world showcase at night.

Epcot is our first choice. My son wouldn't go to Disney and not do Test Track! It's awesome!

my kids loved epcot so much we went back there for an afternoon. we had done 1 morning and my dd got a stomach ache so we had to leave early. you can get the passports that you can get stamped in each country. we used there autograph books for this and we got more autographs at epcot than any other country. you need to hit each kidcot for each country. they colored a mask and get something from each country to put on it. my kids especially enjoyed epcot and the countries and are 5 boy and 8 girl. when we went 10 years ago with my now teens they were 6 and 8 boys they hated it. they really did alot to make epcot more kid friendly and fun for kids. so if you want to go then go for it. maybe spend 1/2 day there come back for the illumination show.

what is the turtle show with crush? we missed this

My dd is 7 and really enjoyed Epcot, both FW and WS. She really liked that it seemed she was travelling around the world. They also have the Kidcot stops where they decorate the mask and collect a stamp from each country.
They also have the Disney Characters on Holiday touring the WS in a tour bus.
The Imagination pavilion is really good for kids (I wouldn't take your 4 yr.old to Honey I shrunk the Audience, though) as well as the Living Seas.
They also have a character meal at Garden Grill in FW that we all really enjoyed. It was not crowded at all - I called for PS on Tuesday the Thurs. before we left and got in at 5:20pm - and Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale came around three times each to our table, and took their time interacting with DD and the other kids. The food was good, too.
DD also loved Soarin' though your little one may be too short.
So, yes, I would go.

When DS was 7 he really loved Epcot & this was before the Kidcot centers. We had been warned by a few people that "Epcot is for adults", so glad we didn't listen! :sunny:
He really enjoyed the WS, joining in with other youngsters playing instruments in Mexico; the Viking ship; seeing Jasmine & Aladdin wandering around Morocco, he met the Italian Christmas Witch; the little gardens in Japan & Germany & the UK;
He loved Spaceship Earth; the Universe of Energy; the Sea.
Give it a try, pick up the entertainment schedule & make room in yr plan for the Jammitors, the players in the UK etc You & the little ones really have a treat in store!

We like to do several days of Epcot each trip- DD loves it! She is 6, and she loves the Kidcot stations, the live entertainment at the different countries pavilions, and many of the FW attractions.

We tend to visit Epcot over several evenings. Since we go at less crowded times of the year, AK, MK, and MGM tend to close earlier. We hit those parks in the morning and early afternoon, head back to our hotel for a break, then go to Epcot most late afternoons into evenings to hit a few attractions, stroll around WS, and have dinner.

This fall, we have a 7 night/8 day trip planned, and 4 of the 7 nights, we will be at Epcot.

The children will enjoy the young acrobats at the China Pavilion .Also illuminations at night is wonderful.

We've been taking our children to Epcot since they were very little. None of us could imagine a Disney trip without Epcot. It is tied as their fav park with MK. There is tons to do and see.

Enjoy!!!

Although we don't plan on spending as much time there as we will the other parks, we definitely plan on going to Epcot. Our kids are 7 and 2. How about doing only a partial day there? I would not miss it though.

Go!
Epcot was always tied with MK in my son's opinion since his first trip to WDW when he was 4. Now that he's 16, it is his favorite Park. We are there for at least a couple hours every day of our trips. We stay in the Epcot area so we can walk in & out whenever we want.

They have really devoted alot to making Epcot even more kid-friendly, with the Kidcot stops, Passports, increased character meets, Crush etc...
