Should we go DxDDP?

Here are my plans for our July trip. Four adults and two children (3 & 5).

Arrival day: Sanaa dinner (staying at AKV)
Day 1: CP breakfast, BOG or 1900 PF dinner
Day 2: Garden Grill dinner
Day 3: Les Chefs de France lunch and Jiko dinner for two and pizza in room for the rest of the family.
Day 4: Tusker House lunch or breakfast. Jiko for other two adults and in room or QS dining for other 4
Day 5: CRT breakfast and BOG or 1900 PF dinner
Day 6: Cape May Cafe dinner
Day 7: departure day. Boma breakfast and QS lunch.

All other meals will be QS. Should we go DxDDP or just pay OOP for CRT, one other TS and the two Jiko nights?

For the four adults, it will be $100/day for the DxDDP (unless you're upgrading from a discount). You'll need to plan a few more TS to get close to making it worth that price point. Do you want to give up more park time for eating time?

No. If we have to do that then OOP will probably be our best way to go right? We are paying for the ddp.

OOP is probably the way to go, but you can do it creatively to get more for your buck.

For the kids, you'll want to use the DDP for their buffets as most of them are the cost of the DDP for the day, so their other meal and snack is free.

For the adults, your breakfast buffets (including CRT) are a good bet for OOP. But I would also do some mixing up. Use one adult DDP at your dinner and pay OOP for one. That way you get a dessert to share. Check the menus at allearsnet.com to see where that might work best for you.

One other thing, with all the TS you have planned, you're going to have to find a way to use the QS meals you've paid for with the DDP. Is there any way you could do BOG as a QS instead of a TS? That's one less TS to pay OOP.

I'm not worried about using QS meals. We can user them for breakfast as well. We usually eat three meals a day.

I do a spreadsheet and list all my for sure meals run the cost of the oop meals, cost of the plans.

If you are with within say $100 I would upgrade because you will get apps, extra snack (I take them home for family), plus tax is included. Deluxe is 1 more meal a day so if you were paying for extra consider that.

We have done deluxe everytime and we love it. Breaks at a ts with free refills and ac during the summer is very recharging.

I just like the convenience of knowing a) all of my meals are paid for, b) I have the freedom of choosing anything off of the menu with no concern of price, c) I have a scheduled break factored in the day.
In July's heat, you're gonna need those breaks!

This was my thought when we did DxDP, but we had so many credits and snacks left over that it ended up being a total waste. We went in September which is just as hot as July, and also took mid-day breaks. We found that the heat made us not want to eat big meals. DxDP comes with an appetizer, entree and dessert at each meal. We never wanted that much. Also, no matter how far apart I spaced out our TS meals, they always seemed too close together. We ended up cancelling a few dinners last minute because we were still full and bloated from our massive lunch We ended up converting our left over meal credits into two snack credits each and stocking up on snacks to bring home. Wasn't worth it!
