I have 3 DD's (6.7.11) .We'll be at WDW during Christmas. It will be the 2cd trip for the girls. My question is should I get the dinning plan ? As the room we have has a fridge ,we were going to bring snacks and breakfast. And that we dont really have a itinerary (just float where the DD's want) its hard to say where or how often well eat. That was my concern. Would it be worth it or do i just pay for what food we eat? Thanks James

If you're going to have snacks & breakfast in the room & you don't want to be tied to eating at a certain time just because you have the credits, then I would say NO the dining plan is not for you. I've figured out what I normally eat compared to the DDP & I just about break even so it's not a great savings anymore without apps. & gratuity, but it's nice if you like to have a set budget. However, I definitely would make a view ADRs since you will be there during Christmas & you won't get a reservation at the last minute. Pick couple of nice TS meals (I recommend California Grill with a beautiful view of Mk especially during Wishes) & just grab a CS meal whenever you feel like eating. :thumbsup2

I'd have to say that the dining plan would be worth it if you plan on doing a atble service every day. For your 6 & 7 yeasr old the dining plan would be 10.99/day. If you went to a character breakfast priced at about $12.99 per child you are already making your money back plus you still get a snack and a counter service that day, essentially for free. We like the dining plan because we go into a restaurant and we don't even have to think about what we are ordering. If we want to order the $35 steak dinner we can when we normally would have had to look at the price for each entree and would have likely ended up with a burger. Everyone always has a different opinion on whether the dining plan is worth it or not but to us it is much more than just the $ value, it's the experience of the restaurants, new food, and the ability to order whatever you want that we like. Evene without the appetizer we still loved the dinding plan last year and are doing it again, except deluxe, this year.

Well then maybe the dining plan is not for you. However,If you are going during Christmas week you will need some sort of plan.Even the CS places are very very crowded during Christmas week and walk ups to TS restaurants, esp. very popular ones are very very limited to none.Know what you want to do , it doesn't need to include the dp.

And don't forget that "Holiday Pricing" will occur during the time of your visit. We love the DDP because it gets us out of the crowds each day for a bit of time, and we like the idea of pre-paying for our meals. Takes the guilt away when it's time to order dessert!

We're trying the QSDP in March. No tips necessary, no rigid schedule. And it's fun to try to find counter serve places with options other than burgers, chicken nuggets, and fries! 2 snacks per day? Sign me up!
