Should we do the Fantasmic Dessert Show

AAAHHH, I am still so conflicted lol. Part of me really wants to splurge because it would only be the two of us on this trip, but the "mom" in me is resisting :lmao:. Thanks to all who replied, it's always so nice to get input from my fellow Dis'ers :thumbsup2.

I think it's cool that it's just the two of you. DH and I would like to go alone together someday, maybe when our kids are the ages of your kids. I don't know though, DS9 recently suggested to me that age 24 seemed like a good cut-off time for us to stop buying his annual pass and taking him on family vacations. :rotfl2: It really makes me wonder what else goes on in that little mind when he's quiet. Anyway, the point I was going to make is that getting to go just as a couple is special. If you can afford to do so, you should splurge a bit. DH and I have a list of things we would like to do at Disneyland if it was just the two of us. I'm thinking everybody's tastes are different. Make a list of whatever special things you would love to be able to try out together, for example: Fantasmic dessert seating, WoC dining, Napa Rose or other expensive restaurant, special tours. Figure out what your splurge budget is, then talk together and see which splurge items float to the top of your wish list and go for it.

So people say that the line starts forming to check-in 2 hrs before you are supposed to. However, if you do the buffet with the idea that there isn't really a bad seat and therefore don't care where you sit (as long as me and my bf could sit next to each other) can you just come right before check-in? Correct me if I'm wrong but they start assigning seats at 8 pm for both shows so what would happen if you got there at like 7:45? I really want to do this package but the whole idea is that I don't have to sit and wait to get a good spot. My boyfriend isn't a huge Disney fan and he HATES waiting so if I still have to wait in line for something I'm paying $60 per person for, well that doesn't seem worth it at all.

I showed up for the line at 1820 and there were two people ahead of us representing a total of 6. The first person had been there since 1630, the 2nd 1730. The start seat assignment at 2000. You can show at anytime prior to 2000 and they will work to get you together. It is summer time and some people get a bit radical about the front row but it is always worth it to us.

WOW!!! 3.5 hrs to wait is crazy! Of course, I'd rather wait that long for those seats then sitting on the ground being smashed up against other people without them. I can understand waiting up to 2 hours if I was going pretty often. I'm going on Sunday 10/24 and we're arriving from the bay area that day so I'd rather not wait very long for my preferred seating. Especially since we have a BB PS at 7:00. :headache: I may need to change that...

My 7-year-old DS and I liked it when we saw it two weeks ago. (I wouldn't have paid that much out of pocket, but I had cash back from my credit card, which covered it.) I had to wait with him to pick seats, so we didn't wait no two hours in line. :rotfl2: I got in line about 7:30 p.m., a half hour before they start picking seats. There were plenty of people ahead of us, and I knew we would get the last row. But it was great anyway. Everyone in that area was sitting down, so my son could see fine. And we didn't make a dent in the desserts. We took them back to the hotel and continued to have dessert (and cheesecake for breakfast!) for the rest of the trip.
