Should we buy mugs since we have the dining plan?

We always buy mugs. We stayed at POFQ for 2 weeks in April and it was well worth the $$ spent. We are leaving in a couple of weeks we are on the regular dining plan. We are staying at POP this is a totally unexpected 8 night trip. But couldn't pass up the free dining and the cheap airfare. Should we buy mugs if all are meals come with a drink. I'm just not sure we will get a ton of use from them. We aren't huge eaters so I see a lot of our snack credits probably going towards beverages. We are doing MNSSHP so we may stay at POP for a day and hang by the pool before we do the Halloween party. So there is a few times they would get used.

We are mug junkies!! We buy them every trip. We fill them on our way to the park. Then we rinse them out and put them in the bag for the day. Once we get back to the resort we fill them and take them to the room/pool where ever we go. We use them at home too for all kinds of issues (garden work, pool parties, coffee in the morning when we are on the road...) If you don't have an issue with spending the money or you can fit it into the budget I'd do it.

I know you are not suppose to but a lot of people bring their mugs from the year before and use them. Just a thought if you only need it a bit.

Buying them is no issue we have the $$ for sure. No I won't bring back my old mug just can't do it. I don't mind the mugs we use them at home all the time. I already have 3 with the new design for this year. But I don't mind buying them again as DH uses them for his coffee ect.

We buy the mugs everytime, but the last 2 trips we hardly used them for some reason. We may have used them a couple of mornings and we did fill them in the evenings a few times when we returned from the parks. I like the mugs and will continue to get them. I don't think we refilled them enough to "get our money's worth" of beverages, but we got to keep the mug, so we still came out ahead.

We use our mugs for our drink with CS lunch or dinner at our resort, and take the included drink as a bottle of water for the parks or a bottle of juice for breakfast in our room the next day. Seems most bottled juice is either apple juice or red grapefruit juice, other juices were by the glass and of course we didn't want that.

We sometimes use the dessert portion of the CS meal for a pastry or muffin and get it packed to go for the next day's breakfast too. This way we get two meals from one CS credit, using the juice and pastry for the next day's quick breakfast and our mugs for the beverage with our CS meal.

Saves snack credits for those important things.....cheese pretzels, mickey ice creams, dole whips, roasted nuts, popcorn.....and a few extra drinks in the parks.

It kind of depends how hot it is and how much you find the mugs to be a pain.

If it's hot, then having a few extra bottled drinks come in very handy, and the mugs are worthwhile.

Often we bring bottled water, as we like to have water on hand. When it's cooler though we don't use nearly as much water. You cold easily get by with the extra drinks.

The obvious downside of the mugs is that they don't get sanitzed all week. I personally find handwashing them to be a kind of a pain, and the coffee taste is difficult to remove from the lid layers.

It also depends a bit how you plan to use the credits. If you use the QS credits at breakfast you get two drinks with each meal. At lunch you get dessert instead. (Though maybe you can request an extra drink instead).

You didn't say how many are going, but this might work out the best for you. If there are some heavy drinkers buy mugs for those people. I think it's a better value to use snack credits on food not drink especially for breakfast.

I would go with a two to one ratio for your party.

I'll probably get blasted for this, but I don't think it would be awful to share one, either.

There is 4 of us. I'm thinking of getting them and using them for our CS meals at pop. Then getting water or juice for my youngest to drink. Thanks for the suggestion. I don't know why I didn't think about that.
