Should WDW Secure TS w/ CCs?

i think all ts reservations should now be secured with a credit card.

1. People wouldn't "overbook" so they could choose what they are in the mood for that particular day.

2. People would cancel reservations if there was a "no show" fee.

3. California grill already requires cc #'s so the system is in place.

4. Last minute getaways would be so much more pleasant.

I would love them to secure the reservations with a CC but I don't think it will happen in the non-signature restaurants.

What I would like instead is for a certain % of reservations be held back until 48 hours ahead of time. That way even if all the ADRs fill up there will be some seats that open up close to the day of the reservation for people who don't feel like planning their eating arrangements 90 days ahead of time.

I would also get rid of free dinning and never bring it back.

But if Disney did that, they would be incredibly stupid. Now, they can nearly guarantee that every seat in Le Cellier will be filled. If they did this, they would have to hope that the remaining seats were filled. I know it's Le Cellier but again, they would have the guarantee of it being filled compared to the possibility it might not be filled.

And why should those who plan months ahead of time be punished for being on top of things? Or for knowing they can go at a sooner date?

Some of these suggestions are plain silly for Disney's point of view. Although I understand why people feel this way, it would not be smart for Disney to do some of these things.

1. See my previous post.
2. The problem being the DDP has led to busier restaurants. Do you REALLY think Disney doesn't want that? Disney is not stupid, they'll do what they need to fill their tables.
3. As for the actual topic, I wouldn't prefer to use a CC for reservations simply because I don't like that you cannot cancel the CC hold reservation online. It's annoying to have to call just to cancel something.
4. For the tangent issue of the topic, I don't mind giving my CC for ADR holding but I understand that others do not feel that way so I don't think they should be forced to.
5. My personal tangent, I think they should use CC holding for the busier restaurants like Narcoossee's, CM's, Coral Reef, Le Cellier, etc... in addition to the ones they currently have, if they had to. Definitely not all the signature restaurants as they're not always booked full.

I'd be all for using a CC to hold an ADR. It would prevent double and triple booking, which makes it so hard to get an ADR in the first place. I do think that the DDP and free dining have also contributed to this, as well as the dumbing down of menus, but that's a whole other thread.

Couldn't Disney avoid double booking if they had the right system in place anyway? You'd think that there would be a way for the system to only allow one ADR per group at a certain time.
