Hi!! I don't know what the process is, I'm still a novice on the operations of the Dis, but I wondered what the requirements were for opening a new board? I also wondered what kind of interest there would be? If you can enlighten me or express your interest please post your opinion or info!! Thank you!!! :listen:

I have to say, that I am always amazed at how many of us homeschoolers there are on these boards! If there was a separate board for hsers, I am sure I would frequent it, but I honestly don't see it happening at least any time in the near future.

If there was one.

I imagine we could talk about the educational things to do at AK & Epcot, and how great it is to be able to go in the off season without worrying about missing school... that kind of thing. But we could talk about that anyway!

Does there have to be a certain amount of interest or what? I am not familiar with the process. Thanks for your help! :sunny:

I don't know that there would be enough of us (but hey, seems HS'ers are coming out of the woodwork lately!!) to create our own board, but we could definitely band together on the DIS to offer support, ideas, etc.

Well, with all the server updates that have happened over the last couple of years around here, I would think the issue would be is there enough "space" for them to add a board.

I was thinking about this though, and noticing that there are a lot of special interest boards--scrapbooking, gardening, weight loss--and I would think from various posts around here that we have just as many homeschoolers as those groups. In fact, I betcha a homeschooler board would have waaayyyyy more activitiy than the WISH board as there are days when there are only like 5 threads with new responses on there.

More I think about it, the more I like the idea. I have no idea but my guess would be to contact Pete and express an interest. Maybe you should try posting a "homeschoolers check in" type thread on a few different boards and see how many people htere are. For sure you should put one on the community board and the families board.

Why not a board for all school related issues?

That way no matter what type of school your child attends, parents can still have a place to share ideas.

I don't homeschool, but have used homeschool materials with my son and my students.

There are plenty of parents that have their kids in public/private schools that are always looking for educational things to while visiting WDW.

A homeschool board would be open to anyone!! :goodvibes I hope you put your name on the list!! :flower:
I think I'll take Julie's advice and post a thread list on this board and one on the community board and see what kind of interest there would be. Thanks Julie!! :cheer2:
