I don't remember Bill Clinton serving any time for perjury.

Seems to me, based on what I've heard from some of the jurors, they seemed to be a bit on the "partison" side.

"What is HE doing here?"
"Where is Rove and all these other guys...."
"'We wish we weren't judging Libby...this sucks."
"Having Cheney testifying would have been interesting."
"I thought we might get to see President Bush here."

They had their claws out for Rove, Cheney and/or Bush the entire time.

Bill Clinton was never found guilty of perjury. And the question was should Libby be pardoned, not should he serve time.

I don't think he should be pardoned, but he will. The President has the power to pardon and I'm sure he will exercise this power. Also, with the timing of appeal, he will never serve a day in jail. I don't believe he should receive a 30 year sentence, but there should be a penalty.

I just think the parallels are too obvious. No crime was committed in the actual Valerie Plame discussion at all. But, Libby committed crimes in the investigation process. (He should not be pardoned, BTW, IMO). Back in the 90's, no crime was committed with respect to President Clinton's personal life, but he was impeached for committing perjury during the investigation process. Both completely asinine on everybody's part. Libby and the President should not have lied. The prosecutor and/or congress should not have handle their cases in a way that forced major prosecution or impeachment. The impeachment was unquestionably a political stunt. The prosecution of Libby was likely one also.

Libby was convicted for lying to the FBI. Clinton's lying case never made it to court but he was still penalized for lying.

In a separate case, Clinton was disbarred from his Arkansas law license for five years and ordered to pay $25,000 in fines to that state's bar officials.[31] The agreement came on the condition that Whitewater prosecutors would not pursue criminal charges against him after he lied under oath about his relationship with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.[32] In October 2001, Clinton was suspended by the Supreme Court and, facing disbarment from the high court as well, Clinton resigned from the Supreme Court bar in November
