My first computer was actually a TRS-80 CoCo (color computer).

I'm a huge science fiction fan, to the point that I collect old "Astounding" magazines to get some of my favorites in their original, serialized format.

I've played D&D for years, though it's been about a decade since I last rolled the dice.

Played the "Magic: The Gathering" collectable card game as recently as a month ago.

I've been in the computer industry since Gateway was still making those three foot tall towers and calling them "home computers".

Ummm....

Oh...I wear glasses, most of the time (I've got contacts...just don't wear them very often).

I average about 3 books a week, ranging in topics from political to sci-fi/fantasy to just about anything else.

My geek-fu is strong!

Four of each (plus a couple original mox's, though, unfortunately, no Black Lotus). I've been playing, on and off, since back not too long after it came out.

I thought that story was super romantic. That much time and effort for a tailor-made, personalized, thoughtful proposal? Makes my heart melt!

Of course, I'm a geek who aspires to nerd-dom. The scale is dork -- geek -- nerd, and I'm solidly in the geek category, but I have hopes! And I also dream of finding my own nerd to marry someday!

I thought the EXACT same thing! Maybe that is the nerd in me coming out!

Maybe Disney could sponsor a "Nerd Week." How many DISers do you think would be there for the festivities?

Most of my stuff is Revised. I have 39 total duel lands. No Mox's, no Louts. I do have a Shivan Dragon I bought across from Edinburgh Castle. I call it my $1700 Dragon (cost to fly their and buy another, at the time).

I learned to repair computers using 8088's. The first thing you learn is "Once the smoke comes out, the computer stops working!"

I've got quite a bit of revised stuff myself, but traded off anything I had beyond the four of each (including Shivan, though my favorite has always been the little Dragon Whelp's. Just something attractive about this little guy that will hit for a little again and again, then try too hard just that one time and blow himself up. ). Lots of Antiquities with a few Legends and 1st and 2nd editions thrown in. I'd trade all four Shivan's though to have your story of how you got yours.

If you ever need a job, look me up. I've got guys that work for me that have trouble figuring that out sometimes.

I'm married to an uber-nerd. Not so much on the gaming side (although he is a big Counter-Strike guy and has gone to group gaming days in the past), but more on the hardware and development side. He's the lead sys admin at his company and learns technology faster than anyone I've ever heard of (and faster/better than most of the people I know/work with have ever heard of either). His background is hardware - no college but tons of certifications and a brain that just knows how to figure out all that stuff - and he claims to not be a developer, and yet he's a scripting freak and someone who built a tool that tracks and manages every stat and detail you can think of for the 100s of servers his team manages. He's also the one who can usually look at code and tell developers where the problems lie.

I'm very proud to be married to my uber-nerd.

As for myself, well, I'm no where near DH's stratosphere, but I can't claim innocence either. I did, after all, design and build my own wedding application that allowed me to track invites, addresses, RSVPs, seating charts, gifts, etc. I'm more of the creative/geek mix.

As for reproducing, well, I'd say we did pretty well - see below on the left. I can't take credit for the big kid since he doesn't have any of my genes, but the other two definitely do.

Actually DH and I joke about it quite frequently. The only way we have been able to understand our kids is with math (I told you we were nerds ): When you multiply two negatives you get a positive.
