Should invest in RideMax?

I have noticed a line planner like TGM in WDW called RideMax.

Has anyone tried or tested this system yet as it looks extremely interesting. I am planning a August 28th-September 1st Trip. How are crowds at this time in general?

I actually went that same exact time this summer! It was busy but not nearly as bad as it normally is in the summer. I was able to walk around and enjoy the parks and not have wall to wall people. We had three day park hoppers and rode ever ride multiple times and saw all the shows we wanted to without a problem at all. The secret is to get to the park as soon as it opens when it's not crowded at all.

The longest we ever waited in a ride was 20 minutes for Indy and that's because it broke down when we were in line. The one with the longest line throughout the day was probably splash mountain followed by space mountain becuase it just opened. We rode splash about an hour after the park opened and walked onto the ride.

I loved going then the weather was still nice (a little hot but being from arizona it was nice) and the crowds weren't that bad at all. I would go that time again next year but I can't convince the boyfriend that going to disneyland more then twice a year won't take the magic away from the park.

Thanks alot this advice just may save me from purchasing RideMax. I will make sure to remember the advice and think I picked the right week.

We just subscribed to ridemax, we have not had a chance to use it yet, we don't leave until the 13th of nov but it is cheap enough that it will probably be the least expensive Disney related thing that I purchase this vacation LOL
I figure if it saves me standing in line for even 1 hour, it was well worth the investment as my time is worth more to me, plus I have a bad leg and want to spend as little time standing in line as possible. I think we paid $25.00 for the entire year (we leave for 10 days in Nov and then plan on going back in July) but you can order it for 1/2 that price for the 90 day subscription. I will be sure to give a report on how helpful it was when we get back

We went the end of August this year and used ridemax. It was great, especially if you have kids. We didn't wait in any long lines and on days we overslept we adjusted our schedule with ridemax. I think it was worth the price as it was inexpensive compared to the rest of our vacation budget and reduced the stress of trying to come up with an itinerary of my own like I did at WDW. In fact, I bought a year subscription so I could use it for our return trip at Christmas.

We were there 8/31 to 9/2 this year. Early in the day the crowds were fine, by evening they were pretty big. I used RideMax and it was very helpful. We were not able to stick to the plan as much as I would have liked, but it is really fun to use and will give you a good idea of what to do at what time of day, definitely worth the $15 I paid.

I was wondering if there was something like TGM for DL...but I'm confused, I just looked at the RideMax site and it says that for the best results to purchase 2-4 weeks before your trip? So this is not a good program for those of us who plan like months in advance? Not really sure then why you'd buy a year or even 90 days if you should get it 2-4 weeks before your trip?

Maybe I'm missing something here???????

You can get it whenever you want, but if you get the 90-day one make sure it is not more than three months before your trip. You can play with it beforehand, but they do not make your dates available until about a month before because they wait to see what the schedule and trends are and to get the most up-do-date information on what is happening to make their information as accurate as possible. The reason you would pay for a year (which is only $10 more) is if you are planning more that one trip during the year.

After reading everyone's post and critiques I will most likely subscribe to the RideMax service. This sounds alot better than TGM in WDW and I think for the last week in August it will be worth it.

It's fun to play with if nothing else. You can have some prepared plans in hand for $15. Time is money, if it ends up saving you some time during the busy times at Disneyland, it will be well worth the money. If you don't use it, you will have the piece of mind that you woulda/coulda used their plans if you had wanted to. If you don't get it and get stuck in super long lines and regret shelling out the $15.... Oooh, don't wanna be that guy! Definitely get it!

This is the part that is making me invest in RideMax and UG!

I think purchasing it for entertainment value is fine.....but with a good understanding of the FP system I certainly don't think it necessary for a multiple day trip. You will be surprised how easy it is to navigate DL.
