Should i, as i like to say , suck it up and buy now?

Heres my situation Im flying from LAX to MCO or want to. Now im not a big fan of flying my nerves get show on take off, so thats why the straight through flight. I did take a connecting flight and unless i can get some good drugs from the DR lol this might be my choice as im thinking right now.
#1 AA leaving at 9:40 PM and getting into MCO at appro 5AM, leaving MCO at 1:40 getting to LAX at 330 for 357.80

#2leaving LAX on virgin airline leaving at 8:40Am and getting to MCO at 445 pm and leave MCO around 5pm for about 357.00

The redeye as i see it is filling up, leaving me in the back of the plane which will make things worse for me as i see it, I want to get on and off quickly lol im not a patient person when i know i can push my way out of the row and just go but have to wait lol. Im thinking of going an entire day earlier, sunday now instead of monday, if i take virgins flight. Right now for my dates no ones booked on virgin so im wondering what if anything with them im missing? Horrible flights, service , lost luggage, what?

thanks so much in advance.

American likely has business travelers booked at the moment, and maybe some connecting passengers.

The difference is really in regards to whether you'd prefer an overnight flight or a day flight. Which one would be best for your travel concerns?

Keep in mind sleeping in economy is not terribly comfortable, but some can do it just fine.

As for seating, you can pay for better seats closer to the front with more room, so that may be an option.

As for the price, $360 is a decent fare from the West coast, so if my dates were set, I would book at that price.

Not really an answer to your question, but the last time I flew with my teenage son who has a pretty intense fear of flying, our flight got changed and our assigned seats were separated. I was told that the airlines hold seats at the front for people needing assistance, fear of flying, or other issues. They made a note on our reservation and the day before the flight, they assigned us seats right up front. They were very accomodating. You might want to try that. Oh, and we also did an overnight flight once and my son couldn't sleep at all. He was a wreck the next day. Good luck whatever you decide!

:confused3

Airlines don't hold seats at the front for fearful flyers. You just got lucky.

OP, no way would I chose a red eye flight over a flight during the day.

Why? Cant come with that response and no tell me lol. I may leave on a sunday during the day.Instead of monday. We have an office in celebrations florida and i wanted to visit there and was going to do that monday(still was the plan) and get into the hotel on sunday

Heres my "fear" lol I have a preferred room at POP and have requested to be near the main building o the top floor. I figured getting there around 6am on monday would better my chance rather then say 6pm on Sunday when i would now, i i changed, my check in date.

Am i just bugging out about this lol?

Those are amazing rates.

Just for the experience I would book Virgin. I assume you'll be paying to check bags anyway, so it's no big deal that they charge for the first checked bag.

Red eyes, in my opinion, are for experienced travelers who don't have problems with the flight. And they are for excellent sleepers. You have no control over the people around you; will they be chatting all night long? snoring like wildebeests? will a child be unhappy and crying? Will you get ANY sleep at all? There's no point in getting in a day early, and checking in at 6am, if you end exhausted and sleeping at the pool all day until your room is available.

At 6am people haven't checked out yet; at 6pm many people have checked in...seems the same chance of getting or not getting the type of room you need. Do online checkin and check the priorities for type of room; if they don't have that when you're doing checkin (and we can now check in 60 days in advance) then call and have them note your requests, and when you are at the resort, slow down and talk with them if the room they give you first doesn't have the things you need.

^^^ sounds good im leaning towards leaving on Sunday morning instead and your right, i just though everyone would be sleeping but how would i know that lol

I don't understand what you are asking. Please post using complete sentences if you want a reply.

You aren't seriously questioning why airlines don't reserve seats for fearful flyers, are you?

I think the OP is referring to " OP, no way would I chose a red eye flight over a flight during the day."

At least that's what I took from it, which is why I explained my feelings about red eyes.

Yep that's what I was referring to. Thought I edited it better then that, thanks bumbershoot.

As for airlines saving seats up front for those who are nervous about flying? Not to my knowledge. I think people would be surprised with how many other passengers are 'white knuckling' the entire flight. I am not a happy flier. But since I have started flying more frequently, I've gotten better. But there are many, many people on each plane that are very nervous and downright afraid. There is no way the airlines have enough front row seats for those that are 'nervous fliers'. If you think that you need to be in the front of the plane, for whatever reason, then you need to book specific seats. And those seats will most likely cost you more. They are the most desirable seats on the plane.
If the airlines did, in fact, reserve front of the plane seating for nervous passengers?? You would quickly see many more people saying they are really nervous about flying and need to be in those seats. Human nature.

I think when others referred to "fear", they were referencing this statement:

...my nerves get show on take off, so thats why the straight through flight. I did take a connecting flight and unless i can get some good drugs from the DR...
Not your desires for room availability. :)

You have no control over the people around you; will they be ...snoring like wildebeests?

If you are not a good flyer I would not do the redeye.

I am a good flyer and I don't sleep on the dang plane! So I don't think you will. That means you go a LONG time without sleep and day one is really a waste!

And no, seats at the front of the plane are not for the "nervous". They are reserved for those of us who fly a lot and spend a lot on the airline. The airline likes money and doesn't really care if you don't like flying. Whoever, told the poster the airline holds seats for "fear of flying" was really just trying to get her off the phone LOL! They aren't even holding many seats for medical anymore, it's all about the cash.
