Should I wait? Will flights get cheaper?

Any air travel experts out there?

I will be flying down from Connecticut Oct. 11 and leaving Oct. 15. I'm trying to get an early flight into orlando so we don't lose the whole day, and then a late flight out when we leave. Right now, the cheapest flight I can find is $454 (round trip) with jetblue. Will cheaper flights become available as the date gets closer? Or should I just purchase now or risk having to pay more?

If your open to it you might want to look at the days just before or after the 11th.

DH and I will be traveling very close to those same dates and noticed that the 10th had a cheaper flight. (We were looking at an Air Tran through Southwest). We stuck with the 11th in the end because I had already locked in our ADR's and had some I didn't want to give up or change. (Ohana and BOG)

I wouldn't wait. I bought our tickets for our October 19th trip two months ago already. I've been watching the prices and even with SW's current sale, the flights are more than I paid and much less availabilty.

I agree with PP about checking alternate dates. I did have to extend our trip (oh darn!) by 2 nights to get such a good price ($300 round trip per ticket from Milwaukee), but since we are staying at a Value it's actually costing me LESS to be at Disney 2 extra nights than if we'd flown down on Monday instead of Saturday. We always take the first flight of the day, but this time we'll be arriving in the evening since we're staying 2 extra nights. It will be kind of nice to not have to get up at 3am to catch our flight that day!

Yeah I think I might just go ahead and purchase. I just figured since jetblue shows the number of seats left- and there are only a handful left on each flight-that they would create new (possibly cheaper) flights when those fill up. Unfortunately I really can't budge on the dates due to school/work schedules.

has been that the best fares, at least on Southwest, are at about 2 1/2 to 3 months out from Bradley. Of course, I never fly around a holiday (except this year!) so your experience may be different. But I have never paid more than $200 R/T non-stop to WDW. We are going down the day after Thanksgiving this year and snagged $91 fares!!! I was in shock!

You have to look every day, multiple times if possible. Last year my flights started at $99 each way and ended up $73 down and $55 (!) back.
