Should I wait to purchase - stateroom gifts/amenities?

I saw the report about some price increases (rain forest day pass, spa services, etc.) and started thinking that I should go ahead and pay for a couple stateroom amenities, although I am well over a year out from my cruise (October 2020). But if I pay now, I am locked in on that price point, right?

Pay for the onboard gifts/amenities? Yes. They are not going to come and say “We raised the price so we need this much more.”

Odds are pretty slim that they would decrease.

I'm not sure exactly what you are planning to purchase, but another reason to purchase early is some items (mainly stateroom decor packages) sell out. There have been plenty of posts from people who put off purchasing something they wanted and found themselves out of luck when the item sold out.

What if the cruise ends up being canceled? Are you refunded for stateroom purchases? I have had them transferred to a different cruise, but just curious about what happens if one cancels all together.

I purchased gifts for a friend”s Merrytime cruise once which they had to cancel and I was refunded without a problem.
