Should I tell CMs I'm celebrating a birthday?

I trust you guys judgements.... I am in a delimma with this. We are heading to FW in mid November and we actually going for an early BD celebration for our DD. However, her actual birthday is over 2 weeks after our trip, so I haven't included her BD celebration when I've made the reservations. Should I have? I know she's not expecting BD recognition while she's there because of the date difference... but I was just re-thinking it.

Thanks!

We are going for my DD's B-Day as well and her 1st visit. Her birthday is durning our stay but I have put it on every dining reservation that I have made, not just her birthday. When you add a celebration they ask you the actual date of the birthday. I think WDW understands that most people might not actually make it on thier birthday, but might be having a birthday celebration.

Have a great time!!

Definitely do it and we always celebrate our wedding anniversary when we are there (Married in June and usually are at FW Oct-Dec or Dec to Feb). They have never asked for an actual date except at FW and get the buttons at the front desk to wear and wear them during your stay everywhere. We usually score one or two nice desserts at no cost at the higher end restaurants and at CRT one year we got a great pair of engraved champagne flutes from the Fairy Godmother. Also we get an autographed anniversary card from Goofy, Mickey or Minnie on the date we give them tied to our TT door or our TV. The stuff they do at the HDDR is great and you just have to accept being pointed out and go with the flow and enjoy it in the tone it's given.

We just got back from WDW on Sunday. DD's birthday was 9/10, but I had her bday on our reservation @ FtW. When we checked in, they gave her a "Happy Birthday" button (which got her TONS of recognition in the parks, and she LOVED it) and they gave her a bday card signed by Mickey and Minnie. Very nice how they are so keen on the details! :)

Great... that is good to know. When I call back to make the final payment :goodvibes, I'll add her. She will be excited.... but I think I'll keep it secret.

Thanks for the info.

Heck yeah!

We always put it on all of our reservations - our anniversary is in December, and my birthday is in November, so when we're there for the F&W festival in October/November we always celebrate early. It's fun to have the "pixie dust" on the table, etc.

Get extra Disney Magic wherever you can!

No one really cares when the actual date is. I had many kids correct me after a parent said they were celebrating the kid's birthday. They were like, ohh it was 2 days ago. I always told them, when you're at disney, there is no birthDAY, you can celebrate it for the whole week. No one really could say no to that.

My special needs daughter wore her birthday badge from December into June. I just told people she was cheating. :lmao:

ABSOLUTELY!! It will make the trip extra special for all of you. We usually go around my daughter's birthday ... I let them know and we celebrate the entire time we are there.:cool1:

We went down last December. The trip was to celebrate my 40th birthday and our 15th wedding annaversary. My wife told them and they gave us buttons. We even told them my birthday was a couple months ago. The cast member said thats ok your here to celebrate it and thats what counts. So I say go for it and tell them.
