Should I take advantage of EMH?

Short Question: Can you really get a lot done with EMH at night or does everyone choose to stay at the park that has EMH?

This might be a silly question but should I take advantage of EMH from 9-11pm? The crowd calendars are telling me to avoid the parks on the days that have the night EMH.
I am going in August so that would be a nice time to go but I am afraid the crowds will be horrible.

I have a 7 year old so we usually do rope drop and then stay until 4 in the park and call it a day. But now I am wondering if it would be a better strategy to do rope drop, then take long nap in the afternoon and come back for EMH.
I will be at the Yacht Club so for Epcot and HS that would be ok but I am not sure if I would want to take a bus again for MK.

I have done night time EMH for MK and the park definitely had lighter crowds.

I like evening EMH over morning. I wouldn’t expect walk on type crowds, but the crowds do lessen the later it gets.

We love the night EMHs, we normally can get every ride we want to ride done during them, thus freeing up our days to just do what we want and not worry about rides.

We usually do night EMH because we are not rope drop people. I know the experts says not to do it but I'll take night hours whenever I can get them.

In our experience, the night EMH are more crowded than the morning EMH, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try them.

The 9-11 late EMH is not really all that late, so the crowds will not start to thin out until about 10:30. If you can stay until the bitter end, you'll get more done in that last half hour than you will the first half hour.

Going in Aug is a great time to take that long break in the heat of the afternoon and return to the parks rested and ready to shut them down. However, just know that getting "home" that late means bedtime is really late and getting up the next morning gets harder and harder as the week goes on. Again, doesn't mean you shouldn't try it, but you need to plan for it.

Also, make sure you watch for hour changes. If the park closes later than 9, then the EMH will also go later. That's a good thing for those that can stay until midnight or later.
