Hi guys,
I'm looking for some feedback..I have a Garden View room booked at BC now for labor day weekend for myself and DD (16) and DS (18). Now that the kids are older, I though we'd try Deluxe. My prob is, we are only going for 3 nights so I really want to spend as little time on busses as possible. We have mornings planned for Epcot, DHS, and AK...going to MK every afternoon/night. BC would be convenient for Epcot obviously, and the short boat (or walk) to DHS, BUT CR would be sooooo convenient to MK in the afternoon/evening when we are hot& tired (and the night I want to try to get Wishes dessert party (9/1) MK closes at 2a!).

BUT BC & that area looks so much nicer to me. The pool area that my daughter and I will visit at least once looks amazing at BC. And I would only be able to afford a South Garden Wing room- so a gamble as to how far we have to walk to our rooms. I like the overall resort theme at BC, too.
Price wise CR is only about $100 less.

Will I be disappointed in CR?

I would stick with BC. We've state there twice and it is super convenient to dhs and Epcot. Plus if you're not in a hurry you can walk though Epcot to the front to catch the monorail to mk. But the bus service to mk isn't terrible either although you do share with YC, boardwalk, swan and dolphin so it can get long.

We love the BC. It was really nice to be able to walk into Epcot. Our usual park plans were to go to MK, HS and AK in the mornings and then Epcot at night. Future World at Epcot is great on EMH night, which is usually Friday night, because the good rides are less crowded. Then we would go to MK only one night. The BC bus goes directly to MK in the morning, and we could get a lot of rides done before it got crowded. The bus usually only shared with YC for most of our trips.

But if you really plan to go to MK every afternoon/evening, then it sure would be nice to be able to walk back to your resort and not have to wait for a bus...

Also, the garden wing rooms at CR will be/are newly rehabbed and look GREAT.
I love BC, BTW. But your evening plans might make CR a better choice. Plus, the room at CR is larger.

You could keep BC , which to me seems to be your preference, and set that $100 aside and use it for a taxi to get back to your resort when you don't feel like taking a bus.

We just stayed at BCV (DVC) in January and we stayed at CR a few years ago. I love them both. I will say that it was very very sweet to be able to shoot in and out of Epcot this January...though we spend most time in Epcot (like you do MK...we kind of hit Epcot every evening---for better food options). The bus, I will say, to MK from BC was horrible. It was crowded, had many stops (BW, Swan...) and took FOREVER. It really sucked the night we left MK around 11pm (EMH night) and had to stand on that bus, packed in like sardines, for over half an hour. BUT...the pool area at BC is so so nice and there are SOOOO many dining options (Beaches and Cream is fantastic...your teens might love that). When we did CR, it was nice to walk to MK or monorail to MK or Epcot...though the monorail can be as big a pain as the buses. Tough decision...good luck.

Based on your evening plans, I would suggest CR. Buses in the morning aren't as much of an issue as having to wait for and ride crowded buses in the evening when you are exhausted and just want to get back to your room. Plus, since you say CR is $100 cheaper, you can use that money on cabs to your park of choice in the mornings. And, while the main pool at BC is awesome, it can be VERY crowded during the day/early evening. Since the trip is only 3 nights, why not save BC for when you can stay longer and really spend time at the resort?

I have to agree with Rantnravin. While I've never stayed at BC or CR, I have stayed many times at YC and at BLT. Stormalong Bay at BC/YC is great, but will certainly be very crowded that weekend and if that's important to you and your daughter, I'd wait until I could go at either a less busy time of the year, or when staying longer. If Epcot is the resort you'll be at the most, I'd say stay with BC. But if you'll be spending every night at MK, I'd say go with CR.
I have to say I prefer staying at the resorts near the MK, particularly on the monorail loop best, even though we don't have small children. I find it more convenient to everything, plus I find it more "Disney" if that makes any sense. I also have found the bus system at YC/BC to be quite slow and inconsistent. If at the CR, you just have to hop the monorail to go to Epcot, and when I stayed at BLT, I found the CR busses to be very quick and seemed like they came around much more often. Have fun either way!

We've never stayed at the CR, but have stayed at the BC. The biggest perk for the BC is being within walking distance to Epcot and DHS. The buses to the other parks, however, are hit or miss (IMO) and can sometimes be slow and crowded. But I do agree with the pp that the buses in the morning from CR would probably be better than the buses from the BC in the afternoon/evening. Plus all rooms at the CR are quite a bit larger than at the BC and all rooms come with a daybed (which is just a request at the BC). With that said, if you will be spending all of your evenings at MK, I think the CR would be the best choice for a late return back to the resort. Good luck.

We've stayed at both and for your evening being at the MK, I'd choose the CR... It's a great resort, we've done many a stay there back in the late 70's and 80's..

Y&B, nice resorts, crowded pool... Short walk to EPCOT, back entrance but the walk to DHS isn't a pleasure walk in the heat, boat there is very slow and the A/C rarely works....after walking all day in the park and then that long walk back... No thank you...do CR, enjoy the MK!
