Well, husband can get ahold of free tickets. I was thinking we could go on my son's birthday in nov.--nice weather, christmas decorations (Nov. 17th--2-3 days before or after) but right now the thought of taking on something this big again so soon..I don't know. Plus I'd really like to wait until some major changes have taken place-- like the water show in CA, all the other good stuff that is going to happen in CA. We're in Oregon and I'm very frugal but there is something about that place that makes you want to turn around and go right back. In fact, just about now I am absolutely apalled that I can't just head out and be in Disneyland in 7-10 minutes...lol. For those of you there-- enjoy every minute of it, there will come a day when you are just-- not--- there--. It sucks. :sad1:

(... an aside... seeing your title immediately made me start humming The Clash: "Should I stay or should I go now?... if I go it will be trouble... if I stay it will be double...")

You're asking if you should take a trip, with 7 months to plan, and free tickets??!! Girl, do you know where you are? You're on the DIS! You know what everybody is going to say! :rotfl:

Of course you should go! :thumbsup2 GO, GO, GO! :woohoo:

Save a little bit at a time for your travel and accommodations, and have a wonderful time planning! I know what you mean, wishing we lived closer, too. I really want to get back, but it's not likely for at least another couple or three years.

Really nice that your DH can score tickets! That's a great place to start. You can go back again when all the CA changes have happened, too, but meanwhile, seize the day, eh? Have fun! :goodvibes

I'm with avalon. I say GO! And if molly catches you she'll tell you to get an AP. Here on the Dis we're kinda like....enablers :lmao: I wish I lived closer too but portland is expensive enough for me! :( You will have a great trip! I'm jealous! Enjoy!

- Yeah the clash song was the why for the title lol. Y'know I had almost convinced myself to not go until last night when we were watching one of those Disney video that takes you on a tour my husband picked up. We were both--I didn't do this--and that --and that. And it would be nice to see the new dragon (or A dragon) in Fantasmic, didn't get to see ELP, I never got a bacon wrapped asparagus stick...I could go on...

You know, in the past 2 years I've been to DL about 20 times.....give or take one or two. There are STILL things I haven't done, I've never had a bacon wrapped asparagus skewer, I've never stayed at the DLH, I've never...well I don't know off the top of my head but there are alot of them. LOL I just sitting here thinking about how great the Monterey Bay Aquarium is going to be tomorrow (going to see the members preview of the seahorses) and I was then thinking about how much I miss DL. I've got 2 more trips planned for this year, wait no sorry, 3 more....I've already been 4 times this year and I want to go now! LOL I definitely think you need to go to DL to see it all decked out for Christmas, it's amazing!!!! GO GO GO!!!!! Start planning now and it will be so much fun! Trust me, you'll regret it if you don't. :)

I would say go for it! :cool1:Free tickets and 7 months to plan and save... but then I can be a bad influcene regarding Disney! I used to live in Denver and I just wasn't happy if I didn't have a trip to either WDW or DL in the works. I am so fortunate that I was able to move to So CA six months ago and now I live about an hour away from DL.

PS Where do you get the bacon wrapped asparagus skewers? I have never heard of those. My favorite thing to eat right now is pomme frites at Cafe Orleans.

since we were neighbors the last time and never met, get an extra ticket for me.... :rolleyes1

by the way, perhaps you saw us? This is 4 of 6, I was taking the picture and the baby was hitching a ride in the stroller. We all had our Mickey shirts on that day. :cool1:

What great shirts!!! Love it! I agree with everyone....GO! :banana:GO! :banana:GO!:banana: You can make this a mini trip to do a few things you would not normally do...try new things, etc. Maybe you will be able to get other things at a great price!!!Woohoo, have fun planning!:yay:
If for some reason you guys decide not to go...what will happen to the tickets? Please do not say they will go to waste.....:sad1:

The fronts of the shirts are even better.......Mickey heads. I don't have pictures of those particular shirts, but here is a shot of some others I made for friends that ended up not joining us.

Go, and take me with you!!!

I SOOOO get what you mean about wanting to go right back. I am sitting at home right now, homesick for Disneyland. We also have a long list of things to do "next time" because we just couldn't get to everything. Of course, this may be because my DD insisted on riding the teacups several times each day LOL!!

Yes, please do go and share your photos with us as I have always wanted to see DL at the holidays......

I DID see you guys-- I thought the shirts were so cute-- can't remember where but I think it was in CA. Ohmygosh close encounters....

Good girl! I think you will find you have made the right decision.....I have never heard anyone say "Boy, I sure am glad I didn't take that trip to Disneyland when I had the chance....Dodged THAT bullet!"

:rotfl:

Sometimes no matter how much planning one might do, life can jump up at you, grab you and pull you down, now matter what.

Oh Giselle--. If it makes you feel any better for it I have heard now that we are seeing bottom now as far as economy goes...

Well hate to disappoint but I don't think we'll be going in Nov. We have seen the Christmas and Halloween decorations even though it was ages ago and they seem much--more now. My son is going to college this year and it is going to be hard enough enrolling him with his special needs and all and getting him rolling. I wouldn't feel right to take to him out of even a few days of classes.
After a few hours of research have concluded we'd rather go right after he gets out of school June 6th of next year. By then the World of color will be open and the new retheming stuff will be done on the Orange Stinger ( I am personally really excited to see that one--the Silly Symphony swings) and there will be a new parade. The only thing I will really regret not seeing is the Nightmare before xmas haunted mansion but husband, even though we adore nightmare is a Disney purist and probably wouldn't like it.
And I can do this standing on my head. :) After all this last trip was 2 years in the making. Also 2010 being the 55th I am hoping for better promotions. I know it will be busy but we really can, if all fails have Steven go for the handicap pass with his Autism. I'm not one to take advantage of a system, but this last trip got to be pretty painful for the boy after 3 days or so. We also just utilized the fast pass system so neatly this time, and the single rider lines- I think that second week of June would be doable. Plus then I'd have the next year to plot, plan and research--good lord, that's half the fun for me...The good news is we are going back. Husband was talking nonsense about how this would probably be our last trip blah blah, before the trip. Whatever. Lol. I am a little worried the et rate won't be available for those dates for HOJO, but I've seen a few dates for June and I will watch it like a hawk.

**I would try for Spring break again but Easter is April 4th next year, cutting it too close to our spring break-- plus with world of color opening then- it would be jam packed I would think...

I believe that more dates will open up for the ECR for your next visit.

Here is the current availability for November:

November 2009:: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 29th, 30th
