I'm on the Atkin's was of living and I have noticed that my weight loss is slowed right down.

I'm keeping my carbs low, trying to stay under 25 per day but I seem to be in a slow time.

Is this normal or should I just start again. I added the Low Carb bread for one meal and I'm wondering if I should just stop that and begin again.

Any help will be appreciated.

I guess that's up to you. As long as you're losing weight, I'd say you're doing great. I imagine everyone hits plateaus in weight loss....three years ago, I stalled for 3 months! It'll fall off as long as you're using the Atkins guidelines. You might want to double check the book - always handy to have around.

There are days when low-carb bread saves my life! I love my bologna & cheese sandwiches.

If you're trying to lose a few quick pounds for a special trip or get together, then I'd say yes, but if you're continuing to lose weight, slow and steady is a good way to go. Let us know how it goes and good luck!

Sometimes when you hit a plateau you need to do something different to light a spark under the weight loss again, particularly if your routine hasn't changed much since you started your program. For example, if you've been walking for exercise, you might want to try something different like biking or jumping rope once in a while, or maybe run a little during the walks.

Also, regarding the bread...I've read that although they're low-carb, they still might have an effect on weight loss. I'm not on Atkins, but I am doing a program that requires that I be in ketosis, and although I can eat grains (cereal, bread, etc.) in the morning in place of a fruit, I've noticed that my results are better if I stick to the fruit even if I'm following the guidelines on what kind of bread I can eat.

That being said, plateau's are normal, and congratulations on your results so far!!! Let us know what you end up doing and how it works out.

Once you pass induction..you weight loss will slow down.
You should only plan on losing 1 to 2 pounds per week.

You will also hit plateaus...I just past one that lasted three months. Keep in mind..even though you ae not seeing weight loss while on a plateau, your body size is still decreasing, so do not get discouraged...you will feel yourself shrinking and can judge as your clothes continue to come looser on your body.

You can try a different form of exercise that you are currently doing. Mix it up..make sure you are eating a balanced diet and enough food..not over do it. Remember, while you are exercising you need to eat enough food or your body will think you are trying to starve it to death..and automatically go back into fat storying mode..so even though you are counting carbs..make sure you take in the right amount of calories also.

You can contact the people at atkins, right on their website, or their toll free number to help you get the answers you need to some of these questions..right calories for exercise etc. They are very nice and very helpful.

Good Luck!
