Should I sign up for Disney Visa to get FD?

So, I am already booked at the Villas @ Wilderness Lodge, through my friend who is a travel agent. She said she has already cleared her schedule for the 9th so that she can call.

My question is, what are my chances? Do they "sell out" before that, even if I'm already booked? Should I sign up for the stupid Disney Visa Card in order to get in earlier (and would that even be possible?) and add it myself?

Thanks for any info.

If it were me, I wouldn't get a cc I didn't want just to be able to book a trip a few days earlier than the general public. Disney Visa holders usually get a few days to book FD before the deal goes to the general public, so I would wait until it's released to everybody else (but that's just my opinion). With that said, some resorts/room types sell out quicker than others, while other resorts/room types aren't even offered. Your chances of getting FD are the same, whether you have a reservation already booked or not. In order to have FD applied to your current reservation, there has to be availability at your resort under the FD promo as having a reservation already in place does not guarantee a discount can be applied. Sometimes you have to be flexible with your resort/room type in order to take advantage of a discount.

If you don't want the Disney Visa card then don't sign up for it. You've got your travel agent poised to book the promotion for you. What you don't know is how many, if any, villas at Wilderness Lodge have been allotted for the promotion. It could be there aren't any, in which case you'll have to decide if you'd rather have the Wilderness Lodge or the free dining. Maybe give your travel agent some alternatives if you're willing to move to get the free dining.

If the reservation was made with a travel agent you would not be able to add it yourself. They will consider the travel agent the owner of the reservation, and only the travel agent can modify it.

Your travel agent owns your reservation and will have to make any changes, you can not.

But really, those Villas are very expensive rooms and the odds of them selling out of FD rooms the first couple of days, or at all, is slim. I wouldn't worry about it.
