Should I rethink Cape May Clam Bake?

We wanted to try something different during our trip next month and decided to try Cape May. Now I'm starting to doubt. There are SO many good restaurants and I want to make sure we don't miss something wonderful.

We decided to not do Cali Grill or Jiko this time (they are our FAVORITES) because we will have our 5 kids with (age 18 months-10) and no grandparents to watch kids for a night this time (plus the 2 meals on the plan they take up), and our other res's are Le Cellier, Akershus, Chef Mickey, Boma, Tusker House, and 1900 Park Fair for dinner. Lots of Character meals, but we all love them. :goodvibes

Our kids are great at restaurants. We refuse to NOT be able to go out because we have kids! I thought about trying the french restaurant in Epcot because I heard Remy shows up there at night and the food looks great (is that true?) but maybe it's too late to get ADR's there for a Saturday night? Just wondering what ya'll think. Thank for any info. :thumbsup2

My friends went there for the first time in November and loved it!!!! They showed me pictures of the food and it looks good! They are there again right now and will be making another trip to Cape May.

We've eaten there and it was very good. It's a nice resort to visit too.

Thank you! You are making me feel much better! I just didn't want to be disappointed. Does anyone have any recent pictures??? popcorn::

We really enjoyed our dinner during our trip this past March. Spring break was very busy last year so we waited about 20 minutes past our ADR time, but that wasn't out of the norm. I was a little worried that they might not keep up with some of the food on the buffet with how busy it was, but they kept the clams, mussels and shrimp coming.

The only photo I have is this one :)

My mom has food allergies (sulfa allergy which rules out a lot of ingredients) and Chef Anthony led my mom through the buffet to talk about what she could eat, bringing out a couple of items he cooked up for her minus ingredients she was allergic to. Also provided her with some brownies and cookies that, while pre-packaged, also met her food allergy issues, and were quite good. So while the food was very good, I think the service and care we were given was also superb, some of the best we had at Disney.

We really enjoyed both of the dinners that we have had there. And they have paper as tablecloths and crayons out so the kids are happy, too!

I booked this for our upcoming June trip..Will there be enough for my dad and my kids to eat, since they are none seafood eaters? I'm hoping there is enough American food..

Yes, there is more American food than seafood. You'll get roasts, chicken, ribs plus one fish dish and hopefully crab legs, plus appetizer mussels and clams and a seafood soup or bisque. Think of it as a regular buffet with some seafood thrown in!

DW insisted that we eat there during our trip last August (2008). We found the food to be of low quality, cold at times, and lacking taste. Out of all the places we've eaten at WDW, there are only 2 that we wouldn't return to: Cape May Cafe and Sci-Fi Dine In. On a report card, I'd give it an F- .
