Should I rent a Disney double stroller or use a side by side double stroller?

Which one would be better to use with a 4 year old and a 6 year old? I know they'll definitely need something to get us through the days at the parks. I've considered renting a side by side double stroller from Babys Best Friend which is cheaper and seems comfier for the kids (reclines, padding etc) also they deliver it right to our resort so we can use it everywhere, however, I'm not sure how easy it will be to push them around and if it's too babyish for older kids. The Disney stroller would be more expensive and more of a hassle to rent but I wonder if it would be easier to push aroudn the parks and suit older kids better. What would you use?

The next time we go our kids will be5 and 3 and i was wondering if we should bring our double stroller or the single stroller or our 2 umbrella strollers?? I know they will get tired but which one to bring.. Either way ur going to need some kind of stroller for at least one of them. The side by side double might be a little more of a pain to navaigate in the parks.. Maybe one that has a seat in front and back would be better in the crowds..

The Disney double strollers (especially the ones in MK, AK, and EPCOT) are nice for older or larger children. MGM has a jogging stroller type. The strollers don't have a lot of storage but the way they are made, taller children have plenty of room for their legs. The only disadvantage is leaving the parks. After a long day at the parks, packing a sleepy child is hard (even if it just to the parking lot!) We tend to bring an older stroller with us to use in the airport and late nights at the park. We will rent the doubles if dd's start to get worn out during the day. Each trip we use the strollers less and less... it kind of makes me sad!

I agree that the Disney doubles are geared more for older children. I don't think your 6 year old would be comfortable in a traditional double. And do you really need it to recline at those ages? I also think you will not need a stroller in every park- At those ages it may be more of a hassle at MK.

On our September 2001 trip I brought our double stroller, the boys were then 3yrs old and 15 months old. I had my girlfriend with me. We stayed on disney property and when I was draggin the stroller off the bus at MK the wheel broke off, so I stored it at the stroller rental and rented the double. This is the only way to go if staying on Disney property. I had been draggin this stroller on and off the buses in November 2000, May 2001 and Sept. 2001. I don't know why it took me so long to just rent. It was a heck of alot easier. Although the youngest was now old enough to sit good in it, I would say when we went in May he would have been also, since he was 11 months at the time. When we go this time, I will be renting, since we now have 3 boys, ages 7, 5 and 3. Although we are driving our 5 yr old will require stroller time, he is tiny for his age, his 3 yr old brother is passing him up in weight and in another 3 months in height! :earseek: After our mishap and dragging the stroller on and off the buses with people lined up behind you, with that look, I say rent, especially if you think the kids can make it from the park to the buses or if you don't mind carrying them.
