Should I renew my Disney Club membership?

(I should start by saying I'm an "old-timer" from the boards long ago, or what feels like long ago, and I haven't been posting regularly for about 2 years because I haven't been to WDW since 12/2000...Hi, BethR! Remember me? )

My Disney Club card expires at the end of this month and I'm trying to figure out if it's worthwhile to renew.

Here's the scoop: DH, DS (Alex, now almost 10 months) and I are going to WDW in December. We'll be at the GF and staying using one of the new discount codes. (yay - $199/night!)

I know we could save on passes with the card. I don't think that DC offers a discount on MVMCP tickets, though. (Every other time I've gone I've been an AP holder, so I used that to get a discount.) We don't tend to dine in a lot of places that offer DC discounts on meals and we rarely shop at TDS any more because they seem to have forgotten that about half the baby population is male!

Is there some great new thing I should know about in considering renewing?

Thanks!

Welcome back to the DIS, Tara...I remember you! Congratulations on the birth of your son. :D While you are still a DC member, go to the DC web site and check out all the deals. I've used my DC discount at the Disney Store quite a lot - mostly for toys for my niece and nephew. Will you rent a car when you are at WDW? If so, the DC discount with National and the one free day coupon saves more than the cost of membership.

Don't forget that you get 800 numbers for ressies and PSs. That can save a lot of money (but not the whole renewal fee).

You also get membership to Entertainment. That may save you some money, depending on if you do much traveling to other places.

I'm pondering the same question, my renewal is in the next couple days...I used it last year for my car rental, with National, but so far this year we are going with Dollar. I have never used it to book a room because we always use codes and it has been cheaper that way...I use it at the Disney Store and in DT Disney, so I probably will renew....but I wish they'd add better benefits to it to make it more worthwhile, like to be able to get more discounts on disney dining.

Remember that with the Disney club card membership you receive a subscription for the Disney magazine that comes monthly! That's enough of a reason for me to keep renewing my membership:D

The magazine actually comes quarterly, but it is a great magazine!

DOES the Disney Magazine still come with your Disney Club membership? I haven't gotten an issue in a long time, and I've been a Disney Club/Magic Kingdom Club member since 1997. I also recently received a mailing from Disney asking if I want to subscribe to the magazine.

I wasn't sure if I should subscribe, or wait a few more months to see if I got the magazine free.
