:wave2: Hi, We are now only 25 days away and our TA doesn't have any of our paperwork yet. Is this normal or should I start spazzing out? We have been fully paid since the third week of July so that is not the issue. I called her yesterday and she was very vague, she sounded very unsure of herself, put me on hold then came back and said "oh, yes you should be getting them sometime this week" She didn't sound very convincing. I'm having visions of her having forgotten to book our trip or something. Please, anybody, reassure me. TIA :)

TA called bright and early this morning...my paperwork was there. I now have it clutched in my hot little hands...I can relax now. All of my ADR's are made and we are ready to go...Thanks everybody for your advice. Kathy

Well not to be the bearer or bad news we had a terrible experience with a AAA travel agent back in March 2004, when we had gone to talk to him about our disney trip and paid for it a year in advance as the time for our trip got closer and I would ask him specific questions he was very vague about a lot of things. And the hard part was since it was booked through AAA calling Disney was no help. Well to make a long story short he was fired about three weeks before our trip and the TA who replaced him call me to inform me that he had lied to us about everything that was included in our trip...we found out that the price we paid for our whole trip was just for the room with no discount or anything...we were suppose to have hopper passes included with this travel package and free passes for minature golf..well there was none of that..I started to cry when the TA told me and in all fairness AAA made very good on our trip making sure that we had our passes, and even got a discount on our room for us so we even got money back..but still it left a bad taste in my mouth so it took me two years to go back to AAA and deal with them. But I have to say that I now have a wonderful TA from AAA who has been great to work for. Sorry this is so long but if I was you I would keep calling your TA until you get what you need to make your trip stress-free.

Call and ask to talk with the manager. If there really is a problem, any reputable agency will make it right, just as vfb2girls said happened to her. But don't wait any longer, you should be excited about going, not stressed! :flower:

Don't feel bad. We are going on 22 days out and we don't have ours either and we booked through CAA. I should be getting something this week.

I just paid for my trip tonight, we are going 9/30.
The WDW travel agent told me the paper work is mailed 21 days out.
She told me this over and over because if we want to take the Magical Express I have to tell them 23 days out or sooner so they can include luggage tags in our packet.
So don't worry. You could always call Disney travel and have them look up your reservation, 407-wdisney to put your mind at ease.

Also booked through AAA and recieved everything on thursday the 28th. So I guess that was almost 3 weeks out (we leave on monday the 22nd) 6 more days!!!!

Hey Dalton5!!!

I saw where you were going to be at the CR this trip!!! We'll see you there!!! :) We're going to be there 9/12-9/19...my AAA agent called last week with my packet of information. I would definitely call her back if you haven't heard something this week. We'll be the family with 3 kiddoes my son is 10 and two daughters are 6 & 7..trying to find some way to have lime green with us at most times! :)

Tara

:wave2: Thanks to all for the advice....I think I will wait until tomorrow and call again. Unfortunately, it is the owner of the agency that I have been dealing with (It is a small place, owner and one assistant). I might try calling Disney directly but I was under the impression that if I was using a TA, Disney would not give me details.

Hey Tara, maybe we will see you there. We have 3 kids also, twin DS/DD11 and DS16. I will look for the lime green (I would put a green Mickey on our door but my hubby would really think I had lost my mind) :p

Hey Dalton,
I've been a travel agent for almost 11 yrs....home based for the last 5. The normal time frame is 2-3 weeks before your departure date to receive docs.
Don't panic yet but I'd be sure to follow up on it by Friday. Your TA should have sent you a confirmation showing what you agreed upon, what is due, what has been paid, etc. I was going to suggest that you ask for the office mgr but since that's who you're dealing with you're kinda stuck. Yes, you can contact Disney Travel direct....if that's who they booked their pkg through. If they used someone like Delta Vacations or GoGo Tours or another operator, then Disney Travel probably can't help you. Might give it a go anyway and explain that you can't get a positive response from your TA and need to know status. If all else fails, go directly to the office and don't leave until you have docs in hand or you're 100% satisfied w/the answer.
Good luck to you!!!

I received my paperwork yesterday!!! We booked through Dreams Unlimited. I still have 30 days to go...We leave Sept. 16th
We booked our last trip through Dreams Unlimited and I don't remember getting any paper work in the mail. We did get everything via e-mail at about 30 days out.

Hi Dalton. Another travel agent here.

I would not wait. This is outside your comfort zone, so you have a right to find out where those docs are. WDW 1-800-828-0228

I would call Disney, and tell them you do not want to change anything, just get information from them. Like what is the confirmation number, write it down. Is it paid in full? Any other questions you need to know. Also write down the name of the person you talked to, and where they are located. Disney may be able to tell you if your package was not booked thru them. If they don't have any information on you, don't panic. Just contact your TA and tell her everything.

And don't feel bad about contacting your TA daily till you get your answers. This is your money!!! A good agent will be on the phone daily also. They can find out when the docs were sent out.

Let us know how it goes.

I wouldn't hold my breath about disney giving you any info since you booked with TA. Our TA had to go in for surgery and we were trying to find out some info about when payment was due and to confirm the type of tickets we were getting - so we call disney travel company. They flat out refused to give any info to us, even to confirm that we had a reservation, since we weren't the TA. We called several times and spoke to several managers but were not permitted to get any info at all. Luckily our TA was in and out quickly and we got the info we needed from her. Never again will we use a TA - I hate not having access to my ressie.

:wave2: Decided not to wait until tomorrow to call....didn't matter...my TA must have doctors office hours, they are closed on Wednesdays. I guess I call tomorrow as planned. After reading some posts I did realize that Disney probably not give me any info because it is a Funjet package that was booked thru the TA. I let you all know what happens tommorow. Thanks for the support and advice. Kathy

Many agency's close or have shortened hours one day a week, since they are open on Saturdays.

Anyway, a good TA never minds a client calling in to check on things (well, if they call 8x a day, then we mind! ;) ) so don't hessitate to call your TA when they open and see if you can get more info. Since the package was through FunJet, the documents will come from FunJet (I beleive) and not Disney, and in my experiance they send the documents about 30 days out, so you don't usually get them until 27 to 21 days out, depending on how good your mail service is.
