We are looking into owning a little time at the World. :cool1: But I have so many question.:The first is should I mention anyone when asking for a DVD on the Disney site? What does it do for us or the person we mention? We have a time share in Orlando but we almost always end up staying on the Park for part of our time. Mostly between SoG and CS we have also stayed at the tree houses, CR and POFQ. We average about 2 to 3 trips a year except for last year. Is it as cost effective as the mid range rooms? Should we stay at the resort before buying to see if this is where we want our home resort? sorry I just have sooooo many question. :rotfl: (only the begining) How many points are good amount to start with? we usually have two to three rooms each time we go? Thank you everyone for some help:thanks:TX Us, DD,DSinL,DGrD,2DGrS,FL DS and DSO, and some time MI DDand DSO and His DD, and every two years with DSister and her DGrChildren 7 love them

If you mention someone referred you to DVC, that person could get a monetary incentive. If you want to use my name, I'm Jennifer Nace from Delaware.:goodvibes

The room type as a DVC member is a villa (formerly a Home Away From Home catagory). A mini kitchen or full kitchen (depending on room type; i.e. studio, 1BR, 2BR) Also, a washer and dryer would be available in the larger rooms. The Grand Villa is amazing. 3 bedrooms, full living, dining and kitchen. Totally awesome space to come home to.:woohoo:

If you are going 2-3 times per year, it's completely worth the investment. Minimum to purchase used to be 150 points, but I think it has increased since we purchased to 160 or so.

Since you go so often and require a few rooms each time, check out the points calculators on this site to help you plan your typical vacations. Remember if you don't go every year you can bank your points into the next year or borrow points from your upcoming year to help you get the room type you like or stay in the season you prefer.:surfweb:

Also, check out the resales. You can usually get it slightly cheaper than buying direct from DVC, but then there is no bonus for a referral

Good luck!!!!

Jennifer it is asking for member city also?

Just PM'd you as well. :goodvibes

At the very top of this page is a link to the DVC point charts. You should check to see how many points you would need by looking at what time of year you typically stay, and what kind of accomodations you need. Then just see how many points it would take and multiply it by how many times a year you visit.

You might even want to buy less points and still stay at SOG from time to time, or take advantage of really great discounts offered through CRO. That's what we try to do.
