Should I make more ADRs? I am the person in charge of planning our extended family's Magical Gathering. We are leaving tomorrow and I'm starting to second guess myself. The first evening we are there (Friday night), I made a reservation for BBB for my 4 year old daughter and reservations for us at the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney. The next day (Sat.), we are having lunch at CRT. I made reservations for the Illuminations International Dinner and Dessert Reception for a couple of days later (Monday night). Should I have made more ADRs? We will be leaving on Wed.

There will be 7 adults (me, my parents, brother, sister, brother in law, husband) and a 4-year old. I'm thinking that I should have made a reservation at Chef Mickey's or Crystal Palace? It may be too late, but should I ?? or should I just RELAX!?

My family thought I was really OVERPLANNING the whole thing, but now I'm worried.

Some advice, PLEASE.....!

When we went last year I made ADR's for each day we were going to be there. It was great because I tried to make them all character meals. The kids absolutely loved it. When we previously went we only did one character meal and ate mostly at counterservice or off site which was definitely not as enjoyable for all of us.

It might be especially nice with the extended family being there knowing that you're all going to be together at least once a day. I'm sure you're all not going to be spending all the time together so getting everyone together at least once a day might be nice.

When we traveled with extended family for our Grand Gathering, I did make an ADR for each day so that we could definitely have somewhere to eat. Most of them were character meals and restaurants I thought they'd enjoy. My family thought I was overplanning also and did not appreciate it until they were there and realized that you you could not just walk up to most places without an ADR. We ended up keeping all of the ADRs I made except one. With a group that large, it's probably better to be safe and make sure you have an ADR for each day. You can always cancel them.

Have fun! :sunny:

If you are planning on eating a certain place you better. I made adr's months ago and the other day my DH and DD decied they wanted Le Cellier at Epcot instead of Coral Reef. We are going in 10 days and they told me yesterday that the day we wanted is a no go that they have no openings. You can just wing it like we did last year but with that many people you probably won't be able to get into some of the places you might want to and if you can get on a list you'll wait forever.Last year we went on a list at Rainforest Cafe Downtown Disney at 5:00 p.m. and we got to eat at 8:45.So that's sometimes the case unless your party is willing to eat alot of counter service meals....Sometimes you luck up but be prepared for long waits and disappoinments... I'd get on the phone right away. People start booking Adr's a year in advance.......Good luck and no matter what have a good time.... pixiedust: pixiedust: here's some pixie dust for good luck....

No matter when I go or who I go with, I always like to plan 1 ADR each day, so we KNOW where we will be dining that day. Since you have a Grand Gathering, if you want to get any meals together, you are going to need ADRs. Or else you might get turned away from certain restaurants if you just show up!

I would make more ADRs. :thumbsup2
