We aren't prequalified or anything but now I've found a small contract with the perfect resort and use year. We could probably do at least 50% cash, maybe 30% to be safe. Should we go ahead and make an offer? It's a loaded 50 point contract at SSR.

Only you can answer this question. Some may think this is (fill in the word) but have you crunched the numbers? Have you done all the research you need to do before making a purchase of this kind? Is SSR the resort you want to stay at the most? You need to be sure you have done all the research and that this is the resort you won't mind staying at.

Good luck. pixiedust:

We've had SSR points for 11 years with this same use year. This would just add to what we have. We have only had to stay there twice in our trips and haven't had issues getting other resorts. I would rather just have a bigger contract than we do now than juggle two contracts.

Ah, it's always great when you find the perfect small contract for the right resort, use year, and with banked points! Are you hesitating only because you're not prequalified yet? If you're pretty confident in your ability to get qualified, go ahead and start the offer. You're not required to be pre-qualified to make an offer. Make the offer and then start working on getting pre-qualified.

This changes everything, I didn't know you were already a DVC member so you already know the ins and outs. As far as whether or not you should buy, again that is up to you but I would say that buying a small contract is a good idea. IMHO it is better to have several small contract rather then one large one for the reason that they are easier to sell and seem to go for more money should you ever want to sell any points.

Let us know what you decide and good luck! :flower1:

Amazing! Great news! I’m so glad you found the perfect add on contract. Good luck with ROFR. Consider posting in the ROFR thread to help others out.

Always best to make an offer. If they accept you get the lower price. If not, no harm done, and you can still likely get it at original price, unless someone made a better offer that was accepted of course.
