Should I let this go?

But it's not really about the cost. It's about the fact that the nightlight was a thoughtless gift.

BINGO!!!! He thought more of giving his sister a great gift~albeit; one his wife picked out~ than in the giving to his wife~ and a lame nightlite @ that

My DH would have been picking the pieces of the nite light out of the most imaginative place I could think to hide it :rolleyes1

You aren't married, so let me put this as plainly as I can.

Your wife should always get a more expensive gift than your sister. Period. End of story.

My husband usually gives his sister more than he gives me, but it's because their father passed away and he gives extra to compensate for that. Doesn't bother me a bit. Then again, he does usually get me very nice, well thought out gifts and not a $10 nightlight. I would be pissed if I were the OP too. When I have been offered extra tickets to something, I always ask how much they are and don't assume they are a gift.
