Hi folks !!

I have already made ressies for August of 2006, and I was not a member of AAA when these were booked. Should I join AAA for the discount ? Is it worth the cost of membership to AAA ? Will Disney CRO let me apply the AAA discount now, since it was not done originally ? :confused3

We have frequently added the AAA discount after original reservations were made. I think they have limited space for this, but you can always call. Whether or not it's worth it is up to you. Personally, I wouldn't join just for the FW discount for one trip. I belong for the many other benefits, including roadside assistance. As far as I'm concerned, the discount in hotels or campground fees is just a plus.

I wasn't a AAA member when we made our ressies, but decided we will join and get the discount (has already been applied to our May 2006 reservations). I am only joining for the discount because it will save me more than the annual membership, and I figured it would be nice to have AAA because we will be travelling about 4000 miles on our trip to/from Disney.

I have AAA and have always enjoyed the discounts but I too am traveling almost 3600 round trip miles and know that I have the roadside service which is a big plus.

I think it's worth it.

I joined for the discount at FW. It has more than paid for itself plus we now have the roadside extra protection. I bought my parents the Keys to the Kingdom tour for our WDW trip this October (they are meeting us there for a week!). You get 15% off tours so that paid for the membership too. Also, recently, I had free tickets for Sixflags but my friend needed to buy some in order to go with us. AAA was the best discount after much looking. So, I saved her a bundle. So far it has been well worth it.

Thanks for all the replies !! :wave2:

You never know when one of those lucky days when you lock your keys into your car are going to come around. On our last trip we got the keys locked into the car twice over the weekend. And since Gary's is stationed just outside disney, they were there in no time at all. Plus the service station inside disney (where they fix the busses and the hess station is) is run by AAA. On another trip a couple years ago, for Christmas, we got caught in construction and the car overheated. We got roadside service through the car also for the next 2 years, but we always call AAA first.
It's also a perk for us, when I call, I always tell them that we're florida residents, passholder, and AAA member. Cause there's only a small allotment for each group, and all average the same sort of discount (passholder giving the most), but at least one discount is available.
Whether you're coming from 2,000 or 200 miles away, it's always a big help. It also doesn't matter if you're in your car or your friend's car. Just as long as you are present.
